Absolute masterpiece of a season, to take kid/teen actors and make them a focal point in an already established series was not only a bold move but remans the best showcase of inner city youth, s*** youth in general I've seen put to screen. The way my broski Calvin schools Prez on "the dinks" is priceless. Also this amazing scene between Omar and Prop Joe pulling out a clock to fix in one hand and a desert eagle in the other was something to behold.

Such an amazing season. You’re right, shifting the focus to teens and having them lead the way this season was a risk but man it paid off so well, bc they all nailed it. And the way it takes a look at inner city youth, the future for all of them, the failures of the school system.. it’s an emotional ride. Always feel so bad for Dukie and Randy, but I guess that’s the point right? To show you how the system fails these kids.

Bro even in my middle/high school those state standardized tests were the main focal point instead of actual teaching. A lot of times they barely knew our names, had zero interest in us, and would just copy a lesson. A buddy went to a private school and had a completely different experience, small classrooms, dedicated teachers and none of those state tests.. If I remember correct..

Meanwhile we were dominating some of these teachers and didn't learn much. Guess in the long run its a lose/lose situation but i wish I just went to a trade school earlier or had classes to push me in that direction.

I went to a small school, and we had some pretty cool teachers tbh but we also had some that I have no clue how they got the job lol. But it was the same deal though, they’d just copy and paste some lesson from an outdated textbook, then as we got closer to standardized test time it was a daily grind of learning things that went towards the test, which they always said affected the school’s funding. That last part never made sense to me even as a kid, like why punish the schools who aren’t doing well?

Feel like a lot of people come here for the hiking, mountains, skiing, whitewater rafting.. that whole nature sort of thing.

There is plenty to explore though, and less people here so it’s probably not as hectic as some of the states around us.

Decided to start reading again for the first time in an eternity. I'm not much of a fiction reader but have 3 33 1/3 books that I bought a whole ago that I never finished. Decided to buy like 10 more of them since music has always been my favorite thing to read about. And I love reading about specific albums.

I don't even outright hate fiction but I wanna know what I'm getting into when reading. Plus my attention will almost always be retained with books about stuff I love vs. a story I'm not sure I'll be interested in

Imma give that new KOTH season a 3/5. For a reboot the love feels genuine and im glad its getting attention. The last episode feels like the show was hitting stride so hopefully the next season picks up on that.
