His verse on Alfredo 2 was ridiculous
You know what southern rapper really slipped through the cracks, Big Krit. Felt like this guy was always on the cusp of breaking out. That 4Eva album would have been great to go along with Sinners with all the gospel influences

I'll be shocked if I ever get into that era
Feel like I struggle to appreciate non anglo music when it manages to sound totally anglo, aside from the lyrics. Need that exotic factor or it's not worth the language barrier. Might as well just listen to something I can understand.

well i dont care about language barrier like you do i know that so its fair
i have found though even with some of the most anglo copying latin american bands theylll still throw in like 1 or 2 songs on the album that are clear in the spanish songwriting tradition at least or something else latin that some London boys never could have cooked up. some random bolero or something
sometimes as blatant as the most shameless New Order ripoffs right alongside potent political protest songs full of national style and pride
whiplash
no shortage of the bands who mix it more together anyway

tbf Jazz discographies being so massive one of the reasons I usually stay away a little from the genre. Coltrane diead early but still released like 40+ albums. I've listened to 20 Zappa albums at best. Bowie and Beach Boys the only 20+ albums artists I've heard every album of. Dylan and Neil are close but I'm still missing a few of the later years. Now compare that with Jazz discographies.

discographies are more consistent too ive noticed
I'm absolutely obsessed with Individual Thought Patterns. That album is ridiculously good. Not as repetitive as Symbolic but as melodic and as dynamic as Death can get with no mediocre or even just good track while also remaining a level of nuance in songwriting even Human lacks. Utter masterpiece imo. Just deserves a proper mix similar to Human or Symbolic.
and the Bass playing omg
