So I went with the Denon AH D5200. I’m no audiophile, but they sound pretty damn good to me. You can clearly make out each instrument, and the drums have a nice kick to them. The pads are also very comfortable.
Those must sound A1 broski
yea Denon is one of the best brands for headphones imo. I never tried those but I been rec'ed them before. Definitely a luxury pair.
How much you paid ? and are you running them through a DAC/AMP setup ?

They were $800, and I didn’t get an amp but I might in the future. But honestly they sound great just plugged right into my phone

yea man headphones with higher ohms need more juice but it doesn't necessarily make them better. Im not sure about the Denons but let your ears be the judge. The one thing I know with an amp, they'll open up really well.
enjoy broski
World Coming Down might be my favorite Type O Negative album behind the debut. Love that the doom returned and it is more open again unlike Bloody Kisses which I like but this one just does it better. It also retains the lighter, dreamy tone of October Rust in other moments but that contrast is part of what makes it so good for me.
That Beatles medley at the end wasn't necessary though. It's not bad but All Hallow's Eve is a great closer
yeah i think i got it as my #1 or #2 from them. definitely their darkest and grittiest one but still has a lot of their great melodies and riffs
White Slavery and title track are two of their best songs ever. simply epic stuff
what an amazing discography

Yeah, a big part of why this thread is so laid-back is because we've been talking to each other for many years now. I don't think I've ever found a place online talking about music or movies where new people are not immediately talked down to or met with hostility lol. Sad reality
It's why our thread is the best and the reason we keep coming back haha
I got cooked when I first showed up in here
for my Arcade Fire stannery. Same with film section chat lol.
Didn't really give a s*** and just doubled down tho

They’re only 24 ohms so I feel like I probably don’t need an amp but I’ll see how I’m feeling down the road

Yup they were discussing hip hop and a guy mentioned The Cold Vein and we seemed to agree on its greatness so I shared a shortlist of my favorite rap albums. Well, by no surprise, Kanye is in my top 5 and instead of acknowledging shared top picks or discussing omissions they went straight on the dogpile with a slew of exhausted and boring criticisms of MBDTF. I'm obviously in no mood to defend Kanye anymore lol but it's like they made it their point to try to make me feel as stupid as possible for liking the album lol. It's so annoying that I can't even try to point out the positives that make me like the album or how I might view something differently about it without immediate dismissal and extreme generalizations... So why bother really lol. Let's just ignore the rest of the list I guess
Sounds like a nightmare. I tried using discord once several years ago. Didnt like the UI or anything, and i cant comprehend how anybody can have a focused conversation in that s***, especially if your in a channel with a lot of people who spend hours upon hours chatting in there.
Thats probably my biggest "am i out of touch with the youngsters" thing (besides watching f***ing twitch streamers for 18 hours a day, which i truly dont understand). It's basically just a more complicated IRC/Slack/Teams application which i've been using since i was a kid and still use every single day. Discord feels like an extreme version though that has no real direction...which is guess that why it's literally name "discord" lmao.
From an outsider's POV, it seems like discord groups are either 6,000 people trying to talk to each other at once, places for losers to witch hunt, or channels of extremely niche, highly suspect topics enjoyed by degenerates — where average level-headed conversation is few and far between.

Exactly lol. We're so chill now cause of familiarity. I dont think we've had a newbie in our group in like a decade

Nah got pretty far then got lost in the sauce
Hoping this one has more distinct areas and is a little less labrynthine. Brain got numb to the endless dark and purple aesthetic.

started 2 or 3 playthroughs and always got lost in the labyrinth
im a seasoned Metroid fan so im used to more distinct areas and landmarks to help make sense of the maze. looked too samey for too long. I know theres like the mushroom spore area etc but it was still too much.
