You asked for post-britpop
we both named them
They got more interesting on their 2nd and 3rd albums
im talking about this
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-Britpop
seems like a fairly decently defined sound that includes suzuki's 2nd category and not remotely your beloved Franz

U heard the spiritualized records i assume?
I just consider bands like stereophonics and keane and snow patrol to be bland facsimilies of the real thing (90s radiohead) which i dont like that much in the first place. But yes all these bands have decent tunes just mopey

Franz one of the only bands that carried on the spirit of britpop imo
way more tuneful than those other bands Suzuki named imo. if you only heard the debut a few times I dont get why you won't trust me.
Like that first keane album was a PHENONEMON but tom was a posh git and by the time of their second album everyone was sick of his whiny arse

man we never even heard about Suede over here. barely heard about Pulp and Verve aside from Common People and Bittersweet Symphony.
also s*** like New Order, Banshees, OMD, Talk Talk were rarely mentioned when I first started reading about good old music.

Now im older i understand kasabian were derivative and also the early 00s american hipster was extremely anti lad-rock and any music about getting off your head and getting p**** so i understand now but at the time i was like "how can anyone not like KASABIAN" lol

I think they did the dance rock better on the first and third album but started writing real melodies/ballads on the 2nd album.
I never really gone deep on the pre joshua tree stuff i know theres good s*** there and i love one with MJB
