yeah im too allergic to the self promotion part of it
I am pretty animated, articulate (at least to plebs) and passionate so would probably be decent but I would feel like such a f***in idiot recording myself. people from my town/era have too much shame for that s***.
hey fella has writer potential but he would have to start start self promoting
yeah i feel you on the recording self thing
also problem for me too is that I don't think I would like to be a music critic type either, like the way i approach is more from a history perspective and couldnt imagine myself being a Fantano or Pitchfork type
might actually want to pursue learning more ethnomusicology type stuff honestly but ship kinda sailed for me if i was wanting to get some formal academic degree or something with that
albums maybe but not songs for me

Some serious sorcery on this
I still can't believe it tbh

yeah insane he managed this album by himself. pretty well Abbey Road tier.

The cockiness of that album makes me laugh too
Paul is literally proving "The Beatles were holding me back"

craziest things is that All Things Must Pass and Plastic Ono/Imagine are just as good in entirely different ways. they all proved the Beatles weren't a fluke but an actual one-in-four-billion group of singular masters.
You ever watched video essays?

Have you seen ig pages that highlight music interests?
yeah one of the best songs ever
cant believe I saw them do it live
with a fellow FAM member in the building too IIRC
@Noir
I was definitely in attendance. Worth every penny for Grounded and Frontwards alone.

nope never got on ig
Casual reading isn't really done like that since magazines and blogs stopped being popular
I miss magazines, bro @Koala @drjdeponytail @branmalt
same
was just telling koala earlier how dependant I was on any music/movie/videogame magazines I could find in my town cause my parents didnt want to pay for internet. still have stacks of notable editions.
unfortunately lost all The Source and XXL mags I used to have
would be such a blast from the past to see them now

have insane nostalgia for the time my pops and I did a road trip in his corvette stingray (with a crazy stereo) up north to see my auntie and he showed me RAM, Purple Rain and Best of Buddy Holly
was funny to see how passionate a grizzled old logger/biker/stoner was about Prince
I wasnt taking the purple one seriously yet

Didn't he show you Costello too?
yeah insane he managed this album by himself. pretty well Abbey Road tier.
I might have it above Abbey Road just for Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey
Truly insane harmonies on that
Didn't he show you Costello too?
yup
around that same time
pops was pretty eclectic for being a small town hooligan, looking back. he forced me to get into the Drifters too who are all-timers for me now. although my first Drifters comp turned out to be re-recorded versions from the 80s or something and I was like "what is this s***"
then I found all the original late 50s early 60s Ben E King era recordings
