My band’s first big budget video with a full crew had a screening tonight for a ton of people. I literally had not seen it yet and it had been 5+ months since we shot at my house so I was anxious af and had no idea what to expect. I sank a lot of my own money into it.

But, trying to be objective, it’s one of the better indie rock videos I’ve seen in a while. Amazing color, personality and narrative. The acting is shockingly good. Most of the crew is from Pepperdine in Malibu and they have a pipeline of art house films consistently dropping.

This was my first script of any kind to get a screening, so that was really cool.

I’m really looking forward to sharing it, but it’s got to wait until the full release on Tuesday.

got baked for the first time in 5 weeks last night and decided to finally revisit Ridley Scott's Legend for the first time since I was a kid

what an absolute cocaine calamity. cant think of many movies where the production values, sets, costumes, makeup etc are all 10/10 but the dialogue is 1/10. the editing/pacing could only make sense to a serial sniffer as well. realized why it was nowhere near Labrynth, Princess Bride, Willow etc to us as kids. mind boggling how s*** the dialogue was. sick soundtrack and I can see the attempt at applying the Blade Runner vibe/aesthetic to a fantasy flick but goddamn.
