Need that Collo Drollo bump.
Collo Drollo my fav Ye forever
..
But LR might be giving Mbdtf a run for 2nd fav.
not gonna rank em but my most recent re-revisiting led me to conclusion of
1. Yeezus
2. Pablo
3. MBDTF
Wonder if Lordie would reply on discord
I really hope he isn't gonna be MIA forever
he always pops back up

Yeah I'll never understand Pablo that high. It's fun but imo nowhere near CD/LR/MBDTF. hell I'm taking 808s and Yeezus over it as well

Need that Collo Drollo bump.
I mean thats gonna be my #1 in all likelihood haha

i find it to be extremely interesting and creative
and the tired comparison of it being his 'white album' and im one of the white album truthers so makes sense
also as a whole the sound resonates more with me emotionally
earlier albums have some of that still mainly through the lyrics of songs like hey mama, family business
but the overall moods of pablo i connect with more

southernplayalistic has been dangerously closed to being tied as 3rd with ATLiens for me for a few years now
they always been a 'big 4' type act with those solidified first 4 being the first 4 for me. SB/TLB ive listened tons too over the years but i never debated it stepping up to that level

I don't see the white album comparison, i just think the narrative mostly falls apart after Wolves with St Pablo bringing it back to life

@Elric what do you think
also 2nd half of pablo might be stronger for me lowkey
im still not a big Ultralight beam person even as such a pablo fan

LR always been near the bottom of my rankings when it comes to his prime run of albums tbh.
Has some truly amazing songs on it, even some of his best of all time imo both lyrically and musically, but as an entire album it just doesnt do it for me compared to a lot of his others.
Its not bad by any means, no kanye album from that 2004-2016 span is. I am just much more likely to play the others in full nowadays.

Yeah ULB really hit when pablo came out, but nowadays i definitely feel like FSMH 1&2 would have been way stronger as the opener. Part 1 is still so goddamn perfect to me tbh.
white album clearly just has that same deconstructive, bursting at the seams, revisiting previous contrasting styles of the artist but also new grounds, tracklist working in chunks and seemingly random but still works together
even the cover too
its the most postmodern album of one of the artists that really defines postmodernism in modern music. feels so essential to me as we are now able to look back on it a decade later
also as a whole the sound resonates more with me emotionally

I just think he clearly put in the effort to make his lyrics worthwhile on the first 2 (mbdtf imo is the last time he tried to write good lyrics). Yeezus is fast food lyrical value but works on an emotional level of pathos + the simplicity of the lyrics over the sonic mastery is a pretty great dichotomy. Pablo doesn't have the production wizardry of Yeezus and his lyrics continue to fall into a ditch (imo they've never recovered).

Idk where else you can put ULB imo because it definitely belongs on the album

lyrics and presence on Pablo still amazing to me. but yeah its definitely kind of the last gasp for me before the bad-but-wait-its-actually-good style of lyrics falters more

I can see LR being somewhat lower for some people since it lacks the true narrative focus of CD/MBDTF/808s from his classic run... but imo just speaking musicality, lyrically, sonically I think having it anywhere below 5th is blasphemous. It is imo WAYYYY better than TLOP, DONDA, KSG, and every other half assed fart he's released post-2016

After Real Friends maybe.
And i think it belongs on there for sure, i just dont hold it in as high regard as i did at first. When i listen to that album, i spend most of ULB thinking about how i cant wait to hear FSMH lol

It's really interesting to me that whatever happened to him during the Yandhi sessions he's never recovered from
Yandhi had the sonic mastery and imo some of the early versions of songs lyrics were at the very least better than everything since 2016.
