Revisiting some union movies like On The Waterfront and Hoffa cause Im almost finished my longshore training. Was looking forward to seeing Nicholson ham it up as Hoffa again but was more impressed by swaggy Danny DeVito in it

@RASIE DeVito would make you want a cigarette so bad lol he's absolutely ripping them the entire movie

Yeah I'll never understand Pablo that high. It's fun but imo nowhere near CD/LR/MBDTF. hell I'm taking 808s and Yeezus over it as well

I'll never understand all the people that put Atliens over Aquemini, Stankonia or Soeakerboxxxx/Love Below

white album clearly just has that same deconstructive, bursting at the seams, revisiting previous contrasting styles of the artist but also new grounds, tracklist working in chunks and seemingly random but still works together

    even the cover too

its the most postmodern album of one of the artists that really defines postmodernism in modern music. feels so essential to me as we are now able to look back on it a decade later

    Couldn't agree more

And i think it belongs on there for sure, i just dont hold it in as high regard as i did at first. When i listen to that album, i spend most of ULB thinking about how i cant wait to hear FSMH lol

You've always been obsessed with FSMH

Atliens super consistent even if it's not got the highs of later records. I've already listed the many issues I have with Aquemini

It's so watchably bad. All the Yeezus merch, pretending to be drunk, the awful blurring effects

I love the ending with the man side eyeing him pretending to eat a burger with a Yeezus ski mask on

there was a literal quantum leap between Atliens and Aquemini, its not close for me.

and that coming from someone who's first exposure to hip hop (that I can vividly remember) was the Atliens music video

ATLiens is one of the best rap albums from 1996, a great year. Aquemini is a top 5 rap album ever.

waiting for @Elric to post his thoughts after listening to the ones i sent him which he may or may not have already heard

and Stankonia is somehow even a little better than that

same thing with MBDTF and Yeezus

The originally KTT thread must have been deleted, all i can find is a 2014 thread that referenced the original.

But some guy filmed his own music video for Guilt Trip that in all honesty wasnt really that bad, but it was hilarious because the way he described it in OP he was clearly very passionate about it and expected everyone to hype it up

And it instantly turned into the entire site clowning it, creating gifs, smileys, etc... There was a smiley of him on the ground with the liquor bottle that people used as "dead" for a quite a while.

So glad somebody archived it on vimeo because he privated the original on Youtube so f***ing fast

Its bad but it definitely could have been worse. The way everyone instantly clowned it is really what made it look awful (and hilarious) lmao

Different strokes. I just don't see this chasm between atliens and aquemini that folks see. Sure, the latter has the musical chops to back it up but I keep coming back to the former at any time. I gotta be in the mood for aquemini.

Plus Andre actually bothered to show up for every track on Atliens
