i have seen some people with criticism that seems super valid
but if i’m being honest i’d play if it was on xbox or pc
gonna play 15 in copium
i need you xbox niggas banned from this thread atp
The fight against Ifrit was dumb easy, but shadow clive
i thought the same lmao. i was like no way that’s it
then BOOM. hit my ass with one of the rawest battles in recent memory
When it comes to technical stuff I feel like Square Enix is just winging it tbh
Ngl I feel like it's japanese devs in general that just can't hang when it comes to the technical side, but they make up for it with more creativity
I only played the demo, and i felt the game was kinda boring outside of when you in combat. The level design was super bland. It is the same problem i had with FF7 Remake. Does the final game have better levels than the ones in the demo?

Yeah it becomes semi open world
Yeah it becomes semi open world
But...being semi open world doesn't really mean they're better levels. To me when FF7 Remake get to those semi open parts they're still boring, because there's really nothing to them, you only have those boring fetch quests to do

Idk I think they’re good

The world opens up but still feels bland.

Got it. I figured it would be. A lot of people seem to think that being open equates to better levels, when in fact making an engaging level in an open world format is much harder to do, than in linear format. Very few games excel at making excellent open worlds. That's why i usually prefer linear games. The problem in FFXVI is not the linearity, is that it just feel bland and boring.
this is game of life i'm afraid. no game has ever gave me intense chills as consistently as this, i'm utterly amazed.
i will say though so far this is getting confusing cause (MAJOR SPOILERS) the hooded nigga looks exactly like Joshua if he got live to be a teenager... Clive is an idiot kinda? saying there is no hooded man despite Cid saying he seen him too? And i bet that girl with the hooded nigga is Cid's daughter too lol we gone see
Gonna watch this. He kinda summarized what i felt playing the demo
Haven't watched it yet but curious what he says

https://twitter.com/skillupyt/status/1672230860282642432ngl i agree with a lot of this which is surprising cause i really enjoy this game
maybe the highs are just so good to me that they make the “lows“ a lot less noticeable
while i feel like a lot of his cons are subjective, he’s completely right about the side quests and the lack of customization.
gil and 90% of items are completely useless. i got 25k right now with NOTHING to spend it on. all i do is keep upgrading my sword and that’s it. i really was expecting to buy or craft some cool stuff.
side quests are absolutely laughable. deliver soups & wood, dig up samples of dirt, find a letter etc. all for 100 gil and no XP. and, even though this might sound classist af, all while being a f***ing prince that fights gods. that work is so below him, even if he is very humble there is no need he should be doing any of that

World is very bland or not enough in it to commit to the RPG title for me. I respect it though. I think
1. Minigames
2. AI that has a culture where it feels like things are changing in towns with day, night cycles and emergent story more than set cycles of them saying the same things
3. More places you could go into
Just really more roleplaying elements would go a long way. I am playing this as an action game primarily and enjoying the over the top moments more than as a Final Fantasy standard game or RPG. RPG elements are barebones so far

Exactly true. Side Quest, RPG elements and world aren't really why I am here. I respect if anyone feels they are extremely lacking. I have been doing most side quest and know they improve late game especially like hunts but RPG wise 100% minigames and different simple task to do would all help flesh everything out character and world wise. I just personally don't look at it for that sense . About to listen to his review

The Witcher 3 did this extremely well
