Vivian Ninetales whole situation map and Grand Cast is everything I ever wanted in FF. Oh my god. This game is a 10/10 for that alone because past FF titles didn't even bother explaining the past story let alone what was happening in game. This fixed all the plot holes for me.

People d*** riding hard as hell and i love this game a lot so far . Like damn just cause they said “this is how things will be” doesn’t mean you have to like it . People mad at people for disliking s*** just cause the expectation was set . A game can be amazing and still be criticized

Has anyone in here gotten baphomet eikon powers yet? That and Odín have the best abilities once you get them. Hate they are so far in the game though.

I mean, I agree but that was a defensible argument. They did state that, and plus the way the combat is structured to give you so many abilities wouldn’t make sense to just use others just to swing a sword, besides maybe command them around.

Doesn’t seem like the Dragon guy knew. If you want characterization, the game does that well without you controlling them.

That’s my point though , a lot of people are making the defense of “it was stated” “they said the game would be more action oriented” as some kind of weird defense as to why it should be a non issue for certain players. Only thing i can get is people complaining about systems that don’t exist or maybe never have. but complaining about ones that do (the party system for example) are fine no matter the expectation set . Just because he knows the intent now doesn’t mean he will magically like how it was handled.

Yeah I see what you are saying and won’t say it is wrong. I agree it is still fair to say that after playing you didn’t like how it was handled, but gave it a try knowing what it was going to be. But I just think for example if something is a fps shooter and you don’t like fps shooters, you can’t bring down the objective score of it. You can rate your personal enjoyment, and say it’s not your preference, but it’s graded on “did it do well in what it was intending to be” (because this is more similar to DMC or games like that which don’t really have a party system either).

So I see why those defenses are made too, because they went into the game knowing what it was. Basically the Dragon guy had a point, but he’s focused on the elements the game wasn’t even trying to accomplish.

Honestly who cares if it "feels like Final Fantasy" is the game that you are playing in front of you fun or not?

Don’t get me wrong, FF7 remake is more my cup of tea because of the party system, and I enjoy that more than this but I also went in knowing it wouldn’t have the same type of situation. So if the game loss points for not being something people wanted then that can be considered unfair criticism by having expectations for something it wasn’t trying to be like.
