Just noticed that the ring motif present in Typhon's UI portrait and on the ground in the stage where it's fought is similar to the pattern that's on all of the Fallen ruins that have been shown so far.

Revealing the mothercrystals and eikons to be constructs of the Fallen would be pretty faithful to the Final Fantasy trope of having the narrative's central conflict stem from an ancient or alien civilisation.

is FF online worth getting into ?

Yes, the story is incredibly f***ing good. The start is slow but the pay off is tremendous.

That being said, it really depends on how tolerable you are to reading text dialogue because there is a lot of it and the game almost plays out like a visual novel.

Combat is a hit/miss for a lot of people too. Saving grace for me was that I think that the art direction in this game when it comes to boss fights and some areas are really strong and the music does a really good job at keeping you engaged with the encounters. The harder encounters are also extremely well designed and satisfying asf to pull off.

Another plus is that the controller support is really good and highly customisable, If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't have given the game a chance.

yeah i’ve tried the game when they had some free trial on pc and i honestly wasn’t feeling the beginning but i only played like 2 hours

First time I played it, I think I did the same thing. Played it for 2 hours then just dropped it. The UI was just extremely off-putting for me. I played it again like a year later when I had some more time, did some tweaks with the UI so it wasn't a clusterfuck and was hooked.

All that being said, I'm not gonna completely try and shill you on this game and say its all good.

Honestly a lot of XIV fans are kinda obnoxious and a lot of people will tell you that the game will get better after X hours (usually after ARR - the first expansion), and while I do agree that the story gets a lot better. The gameplay loop stays relatively the same throughout all the expansions (which is actually what a lot of people have problems with). The ratio of combat to engaging with the story (cutscenes and reading text dialogue) is heavily skewed toward the latter. For a lot of people the story being good really makes up for it but that aint for everyone. If you don't enjoy that then im not gonna try and tell you to sit through a 200h+ game
