How is it possible to make this game this big with less development time than other games? Can someone explain it to me? I’m just guessing they poured a lot of resources into it but even ff16 had dedicated time and would have had close to double the development time

It'll have been like 4 years since the original release. Who knows how much of this part they had already gotten to in development before they decided to split it into 3 parts

Cause a lot of the heavy lifting is already done. The engine and all the assets and s*** are there for them to use and they can just focus on new content now.

But this isn’t even the full game, honestly how big are they making the map for this game to be more GB than Elden Ring and not even be the complete FF7? Lol.

Even if they stretch it to the point you can travel the whole OG FF7 map to explain the amount of content, then what would even be left to explore in the third game after this without it feeling rehashed? Just can’t see this really being more than 120 GB knowing there’s still content to be left for a third game (map wise). Unless they choose to put Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children in the last one.

I know they’ll expand on stuff but still is FF7 really a 200 GB game if it was remade? The story doesn’t seem THAT big, and the map isn’t bigger than other open world games but maybe they really will let you sail the water and go into the open sky. It’s just a crazy surprise, and in a bit disbelief (even if there’s reasonable answers to it)

I won’t say I know too much on compression in gaming but there isn’t any way a complete edition for the trilogy is coming out on vanilla PS5 lol
