It's terrible what happened to Frank's brother, and people grieve differently. We've seen tragedy inspire great pieces of art in the past. We've also seen tragedies ruin people.

I'm not one to judge how Frank himself manages it, but he has created a jewelry line and worked on a movie since the horrible car accident that took his brother. Don't pretend that he's been locked away from the public eye because of it since it's just not true. Attributing his retreat from music to his brother's death is disrespectful since we have no clue what's really going on.

It was a bad performance, man. I'm glad he was able to do something that he felt was honoring his brother, but in no world was that a good set. It is what it is.

It had a couple interesting moments, but as a headlining set at the biggest music festival in the US, it was bad.

He's even previewed snippets on like 2-3 occasions (which I've always found weird that nobody talks about anywhere considering how much everyone anticipates this album), released that blonded episode with a new song, and is even making a movie rn. He even sorta teased the album during coachella iirc.

He'll release it all when he feels like it but I don't think fans anticipating it all is bad (as long as they stay respectful) considering he's the one who has teased this stuff.

It's obvious Frank along with the mourning just wants to live his life so he has something of substance to create about, on some lauryn hill s***, and if that takes 10 years, so be it, i really dont care

It's unfortunate for us as a fanbase his career panned out the way it did and he wasn't more prolific but as already stated in the thread we know the reasons for that. I highly doubt things change now as he's getting older, he's nearly 40... would he have the hunger to put himself out there like that again or is he content just living a life out of the public eye? We are lucky with what we got in the end still and I've come to accept that

Yeah, if he wanted to stay out of the public eye and live a private life I would fully understand and respect that. That's just not what's happening though since he's released videos of him recording new music the past few years (in addition to everything else). If fans are respectful, I see no issue with people hopeful for something new in the future.

grieving or not, i am still never gonna excuse that pathetic bullshit he pulled at coachella. blows my mind how people still defend the way he handled that entire situation. im ngl it genuinely did make me see him in a different light and turned me off his music for a long time after that especially since i had tickets for it too. dude made some last minute changes, ruined his own performance, then faked a leg injury to bail out of the following weekend.
