what happens if everyone admits YSL is a gang in their plea deals? do the snitch allegations get revoked?

anything that could count as snitching is up to those involved

saying ysl a gang could just be collab effort to get certain people out, now if somebody said like yeah so and so committed this crime then s*** i guess they snitched

really seems like thug is kinda f***ed here just by extension of others taking guilty pleas; it really shifts the burden of a lot of the accusations onto him and makes it very hard to deny it if others have pleaded guilty (therefore acknowledging the case is valid). Seems like hes likely gonna be situationally forced into taking a plea deal of some type

tbh i think this is what they wanted the whole time, plea deals still count as wins to the DA, and the world really wants them home ASAP

yeah, DAs love forcing people into plea deals, it's a large part of how the justice system works unfortunately. that said plea deals can get pretty complicated so its not like its guaranteed that if he takes one he's just back immediately. like the thing about plea deals in cases like this is its kind of a domino effect where all they need is one person to take a plea deal, and then everyone else is essentially forced to, because taking a plea deal is an admission of being guilty, which validates the case, which then narrows the ability of others to plead innocent. however the issue is there that the charges do kind of get passed along, for example if someone takes a plea deal and is like "i admit i was guilty of gang involvement and distribution but i didn't do the murder" (not saying this case but more generally), like they still have to pin the remaining charges on someone (at least in the eyes of the court - obv can still be argued but it makes it a lot harder to esp in a RICO case), and that accrues the more people take plea deals vs who hasn't yet

iirc they already litigated the cases of the some of the bodies beforehand (like Yak Gotti’s shootings, he already was in jail for that) so if they dont have new ones those folks who arent involved would probably be able to come home right? i also still dont get how RICOs arent double jeopardy but thats a whole different conversation

  • Dec 15, 2022

IMO thug knows they got him on the most crucial evidence regardless and can prove YSL a gang, if all that tapping s*** they did was true he probably just want his members home at least but idk i’m just tryna make sense of it

I'm not 100% sure since the RICO case carries a lot of different charges this time and there's A LOT of charges. I was just using the murder thing as an example more generally of how charges cascade in a RICO case, I didn't actually mean that for this case specifically. In general though yeah youre right RICO cases are kind of bullshit, they basically are not only double jeopardy but they violate a lot of other core principles of the supposed justice system - it's basically just the govt being like "we're the government and have authority and really want to reign in charges in an inescapable way". thats really why they're viewed as inescapable
