Not exactly an original idea but there’s this niche style of early West Coast rap hooks that I really love.
That NWA s*** where the beat changes for the hook and like a collage of sounds come in
1:19

The Game’s song No More Fun & Games copies an old NWA song here

Wondering how this could be done nowadays without sounding like a complete 1:1 homage to this very particular style. Do you know of anymore songs by other artists that use this style?
Do you have any unique ideas for rap music?
The niche style of sampling
It’s kinda niche when that’s your hook no?

Listen to more 80s rap
They had samples galore throughout each song
Hip Hop Opera
A project w/ no breaks, just beat changes
New Disco x Underground
Raps about normal ass life that sound amazing

Post some, also the whole beat changes in what I’m looking for….
Can’t see what song this is won’t play
recorded live sessions (bands, orchestras, jams etc. whatever) of instruments, synths and singers and use it as itself and/or as your own samples for the whole sound of the album
I’ll always say we need dj scratches again
Maybe I should get some turntables and learn
Learn how to chop and screw
its not exactly fresh but I think every major hip hop artist should do a project with one producer like nas/hit boys run, cause thats a different kind of cohesion
i feel like it typically happens with smaller artists like royce/prem or freddie/alchemist but i want drake/cole/kendrick/big krit/lupe to lock in with a single producer. especially cole and krit who always produce for themselves

It does make an album more cohesive

forgot to even mention Be from common/kanye which is probably one of the best examples out there. 100% classic

Hot take I actually feel the albums with a lot of producers tend to be better except in specific cases and give bigger sounding albums w more diversity I would not want a schoolboy Q alchemist album id rather he has 20 producers on his s***
Yea such a fresh idea man
it’s not fresh necessarily but who’s done it in recently that’s really garnered attention?
I need a guy that exclusively raps over jungle dnb and like samples of 80s rock and industrial s***
