Darius and his grief meant a lot in this episode, the way he looked at the gang at the end was how we look at them.

Big difference is Sopranos last season built up the ending and alluded to ideas being possible. This? It was never established that everything could have been a part of Darius imagination. This was just a lazy attempt to be added to that conversation.

eh, I would disagree. I think the surrealism of the show has been set up for 4 seasons yet there's never been an explanation offered. why are cars invisible, Justin Bieber white, and hands served for dinner?

on a surface level, ending a surreal show on "it was all a dream" does seem lazy and predictable, which makes it bold to play with that idea and purposefully leave it up to interpretation

it was a courageous choice and worked well imo, but I've enjoyed almost all of the controversial choices this show has made

I think the entire point flew over ya head and you loooking at it from a very surface “omg it was all a dream” level

S4 is a mix of what I like about S3 and S2 rather than being just like either one

one of my favorite scenes in the show, so much joy in that moment

This is a top 5 finale ever for me

If anything, I feel like Darius bodied himself in the tank. Drowned face down

I think Darius broke the barrier, he straight saw, touched, spoke to his dead brother. I don't think anyone else got that far. Paperboy saw his mom but it was more like her echo

That's his "getting out". Earn going west coast with van, paperboy finally getting disillusioned with it all and going farm mode. Darius retreats so far into his own mind, he's stuck

This is legendary

The ending is metaphorical, it doesn't actually matter what's real and what's not, and it's not telling people to look at the show like it's all Darius's imagination.

The whole show was like a dream to each of us, and it doesn't matter if we have to wake up from it or not bc we got to spend time with these characters (and low-key each other bc I loved talking about this show with you guys)

Bro this ending's supposed to be a happy one, get out of here with this depressing ass Darius death theory
