Do I gotta be fully caught up on Atlanta before S3? I watched most of Season 2 but not the very end. Forgot most of it though tbh.

you should watch season 2 because it's good

I’d probably finish S2. The finale pretty much sets up the plot for S3. That being said you could still get a good amount of enjoyability out of it without watching
Dave > Atlanta
Dave is Atlanta/Ramy with white privilege. The guy is a whiny a****** to the people around him who are actually going through s*** and all the conflicts with those people magically resolve at the end of S2 without him having to do any growth or learning from it. Just a mid show with shock humor and occasionally decently funny writing
The scene when the club promoter cant find Earn because everyone is in black face and afros is so f***in funny and such good writing.
And the fact he beat up a dude
Like how tf you defend the blackface by saying its just tradition but you can't even tell the difference between someone black and someone in black face
We all look the same to them

Nah run the whole show back.
No she wasn't. That was jussie smollet sister. You probably thinking of the harder they fall
she was Ruby's white form in Lovecraft Country
you seem to be looking for deep plot advancement in these episodes but “Atlanta” has never been a show that prioritizes plot. It’s all about themes and these 2 episodes worked perfectly as a pair.
On a surface level, this show seems all over the place with its random premises and one-off characters but it is actually extremely, extremely cohesive so it baffles me when people say they love this show but act so confused every time it takes an unexpected detour. those detours are a commentary on the arcs of the main characters
Take the Teddy Perkins episode. In a sense, it was very random because TP has nothing to do with Paperboi or Earn and em. but the episode used Teddy’s character to make a commentary on the effects of fame and trauma and how that effects an artist. And it ties in thematically to what we see Paper Boi dealing with throughout the series and it was explored even more 2 episodes later in the Woods episode
I feel like S3E1 is no different. Most of it isn’t about Earn and everyone else but at the same time it is. Loquareeous came from an abusive, traumatic Black upbringing. But then he is thrown into a White environment and then sees that things are not entirely different, it’s even worse in some ways
This is a parallel to the main cast leaving ATL this season and going to Europe. You’d think it would be a reprieve from the bullshit they faced back at home but nah, the f***ery is still present which we see in S3E2.
every episode is a piece of the puzzle

LMAO already forgot about that man that was soo funny
the amount of potentially classic gags in just two episodes so far...
It’s overrated to me. Arrested Development for the Breaking Bad audience.
That's a flaming hot take
still need to check myself what the craic is with that

I forgot most of S2 as well, except that Teddy Perkins episode
Dave > Atlanta
this is actually the worst take of all time and if you think the two are on the same level at all you’re missing everything that makes Atlanta truly great

this is such an easy bingeable show. just watch S2 into S3.
Succession like that?
It's good for sure but they try to anoint it on some breaking bad tier s***.
Nah nigga it's 2 tiers down and to the left.
It's got crazy hype behind it though
i need to watch this show
