This boot straps s*** when it comes to legit mental health issues then hiding behind the most obvious, low-hanging fruit stereotypes of people who take advantage of mental health awareness in order to stigmatize having mental health issues in general has to stop
It isn’t being “real” or having common sense. It’s just being a d***head with no empathy who thinks being ignorant of scientific research makes them more woke
threads like these just add to the stereotype of d**** are bad lol. theres no shame in needing a lil pick-me-up to get through your day

nothing wrong with being aware of mental health its about how its taught and how its perceived
Promote getting an accurate diagnosis from a credible health professional instead of Twitter or webMD

you’re taking this personal. everyones situation is different but its hard to deny the fact that d**** are helping a lot of people.

and to be clear, i think the awareness is good. Mental health IS important. But making it part of your identity can snowball in dangerous ways, trust me.

if you got legitimate mental health issues and you're trying to fix it with weed then that's exactly the issue im talking about.

some people are so against asking for help due to social stigmas. thats gotta change. theres just some s*** u cant do alone
How come webMD is seen as unreliable? Sorry I'm out of loop
webMD is unreliable because to use information you need expertise to place that info in context. Average person does not have the expertise to do this when it comes to medical symptoms. Certain diagnoses also need further testing, you can't just tell immediately from a couple of symptoms.
as soon as the kids get a B- in school we diagnose em w ADHD and make em pop the adderall
sleeping in until 12 every day isn't "self care" you lazy c*** :
can you honestly name a girl under 25 that hasn't had some type of eating disorder
I've really met people who think they got whatever the bad guy in that m night shamalyn Split movie had
thinking they've got 12 personalities
like "oh yeah sorry this is Timmy he's my aggressive and impulsive personality"
how do we fix this
you do make apoint a bit some ppl think they have or suffer from everything but that is for a professional to decide

another bad thing is people will go and see like 10 different doctors just to get 1 of them to say the things they wanna hear.
I don't like to gatekeep mental health but PTSD is frequently misdiagnosed. Most people don't even realize an official PTSD diagnose can only happen 6 months after the traumatic incident (hence post being in the phrase).
Its not always possible to see a mental health professional, but if you really feel you have something going on, seeing somebody is as important as a regular doctor.
Also, plugging genomind. Its a test to determine what antidepressants work with your body. Its a cheek swab and is pretty affordable with payment options. The old way of getting medication was trial and error, this way its as exact as a regular medication. I got onto my current s*** with the test, and it's so far had 0 side effects.

Maybe it's difficult for it to not be a part of your identity if it has such a strong hold of your life? If someone has cancer, and it's making them really sick, would you think they're "making it part of their identity" if it's something they struggle with every day? It may be hard to understand what's going through someone's head, I just think that thinking that people who are struggling with mental health issues are just "making it part of their identity", and that's what makes it worse, isn't a good way of viewing it. And I have family struggling with serious mental health issues as well. Just my take on it
