I think his prerequisite for a feature outside of Griselda is a) can you speak English and b) do you like generic projection he will literally do a joint with anyone and think it’s the s***, when in reality most of the time he’s wasting a nice verse

That's what hes getting paid to do, spit something dope that's gonna make his fanbase listen to it.

I listen to most Benny features for the Benny feature.

You cant listen to a tape like Statue Of Limitations with Smoke DZA (which gets little to.no mention around here) and tell me you think dude cant spit top tier s*** at will. It keeps the pen sharp and buys time while hes crafting the album. Tana Talk 3 & 4 due next year right?

Also, it gives him a super amount of street cred. Most artists in his position never reach back and deal with acts on the come up. That's real nigga s***.

Hes on a song with Slayter outta Dyckman that he prolly did as a favor for DZA and Cinematic.

But he has plenty of s***s with no name rappers that wouldnt get a look otherwise.

He stayed loyal to 38 Spesh and Trust Gang as well as his own people. I just see him as a rapper who had to grind for years and understands how much a 16 from a known artist can mean to a local rapper. It doesnt really diminish his appeal honestly. It's not like hes giving them weak verses either.

People complain that Benny hasnt put out a project since Plugs but that s*** is super solid and the Gunn and Conway feats make it feel like Griselda canon.

Totally get your point, but for me it does diminish his appeal a bit, because he has dope ass verses on tracks I have no desire to even listen to again. And let’s be honest, the more verses you put out that are top tier... especially with the limited subject matter Benny has, eventually the won’t hit as hard, and he’ll run out of new ways to say the same stuff. Look at Wayne’s feature run before C3 for example, I’m not a big Wayne fan, but he spread himself too thin and hasn’t ever been the same since 08

Not saying he doesn’t kill the verses, but I’m not trying to hear a track more than once if I don’t f*** with the other people on the track. The beats he pics are also generally pretty average to bad... surprising with SOL since it’s Pete rock, but he didn’t didn’t bring his A game on that s***

I f*** with A Friend Of Ours and most of the features I've heard from him.

S***, there was a point I felt Conway was rapping on a lot of bullshit beats/songs too. S*** way worse then what I've heard Benny over. S***, that whole tape with Big Ghost was subpar imo.

But I never once thought he was gonna run outta bars lol. These niggas are on a run. Why sit on verses? Use the throwaways for whatever and stack the gems for the albums.

When this Hit-Boy tape drops and blows niggas away, maybe then they'll give Benny some credit as an artist.
