Mark Moschinoin the way you're asking it. it basically just means this guy has no presence anymore and is making a deliberate ploy to existing fans
but in a broader scope it becomes a more difficult question @op because there's an argument that artistic trajectory isn't a linear thing.
I'm sure you as an artist knows that a lot of times when writing songs you use progressions/techniques that youve definitely used before to create similar feelings between songs, so i guess you're mileage may vary
It would be better if they didnt announce it as a return to old vibes and it was just a pleasant surprise that they Returned to old vibes a little bit
Like i can see Medicated Kanye trying to cash in on Good Ass Job and bringing back the college era album skits with Druski or whoever but the actual music would still be trap beats and loose ideas like his post Donda albums. Its rare people can go back

hadjiYeah I guess I'm thinking more about presentation than actual musical technique and sound. If you build upon a foundation you started with then that's totally fine and sometimes in music that can look like very subtle tweaks
The other part I didn't really mention in this video that maybe I should have is that for an artist to say they're bringing something back, it implies it left, or that they lost their way somewhere along the way. Which maybe is the requirement for this whole convo haha

You cant be young and hungry again but you can identify a type of rapping and beat style down to a science to where its just about execution
