Yeah you highlighted the one guy I highlighted (okay, his brother too, but idk, Aemond just isn’t selling it as well for me, I didn’t include him in my rant for a reason though), how about the people we spend the other 90% of our time with?

I guess if I had to articulate why I’m b****ing so hard without it just being repetition of the complaints people have been making since season 2, it’s frustrating to spend time in this detailed world that’s so easy to get lost in only to have the writing fall flat, especially considering how this show was supposed to make up for them ruining GoT with the same bad habits.

yeah we could be getting more, vanilla ass dialogue and emphasis on the wrong plots

The thing is…at this moment in the book, Aegon is just missing. No one knows where he is or what he is doing

So no one really knows where the plot line is headed

Meanwhile every scene of Rhaenyra alone with him (really her in almost every scene) is her desperately torn between anger and sadness. Give me some range! Her theater experience shows too much IMO. And every scene of magician lady (still haven’t cared to learn her name since she doesn’t seem like a real person) is her giving a man a profound, terrifying experience. Alicent: we must retain what little dignity we have left … and scheme just a little. Helena: I’m depressed and aloof … but also secrets.

The little dragon rider that could. Basically every character has their little quirk and just exists in this world for their main plot motivation, little characterization beyond that. I get that it’s war but most everyone just feels thin (and the exceptions that don’t make all the others more noticeable).

Edit: AKotSK is such an easy comparison and just looks so good next to this. A fraction of the budget, but smarter writing and it actually lets the characters breathe. Like I get AKotSK is way lower stakes, but HotD is stretching out this story so there is no excuse for there not to be slower moments. K done ranting about HotD on KTT of all places

It’s always devastating when the ep ends this s*** peak

Daemon right at every turn Rhaenyras soft ass tactics have done nothing but empower the enemy and get her own killed

Daemon the only mf in this s*** who actually can rule a kingdom. He's be pretty harsh, but it wouldn't be in disarray.

The fact rhaenyra tried to send him away while she's pretty much vulnerable in kings landing the most ignorant decision. That man damn near singlehandedly gave you the throne. If you send him away your head will be on a pike in a week.

Again not saying Daemon is perfect, but he literally seems like the only competent character in the entire f***ing show.

If he's not doing anything, you're basically just watching a bunch of people who have no solutions galavanting around while the situation worsens.
