You were the one who started talking about how these conspiracy theories are baseless because the industry is so regulated
That’s clearly not the case
S*** half of US Congress insider traded publicly and have had f*** all repercussions
If you think it’s remotely out of the question that the giant hedge fund losing billions played a part in today then idk what to tell you
No they are conspiracy theories because there is no evidence to support them and both of the companies have released statements saying that they were in no way involved in the decisions of the other.
Okay again, you changed the topic to politicians and insider trading. Hedge funds get f***ed for insider trading all the time, just look at the fine that SAC capital had to pay when it got screwed for insider trading.
Yea I do think it's out of the question that any hedge fund or market maker had an impact on robinhood's decision to shut down, but that's my opinion. SEC regulations are tough, especially for a trading app that is essentially a late-stage start up with VC funding.
Anyone else feel like Michael Burry indirectly started this?
The first GME memes I remember seeing on WSB was the dude that put in 50k just bc he saw Burry did

It’s super volatile man nobody can say anything w 100% certainty

Can someone just tell me how to make money off this idc abt the political side of this
Should go in with the mindset that youll lose everything
Then decide how much you want in
Do it bro. I got in at about $10 per share and it’s even under that now
What do you buy through
just got this e-mail from Robinhood. they're re-opening the public exchanges in "limited buys" tomorrow.
"It’s been a tough day, and we’re grateful to you for being a Robinhood customer. In light of the extraordinary market conditions this week, we temporarily limited buying for certain securities this morning. Starting tomorrow, we plan to allow limited buys of these securities. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and may make adjustments as needed. "

Because this is just the beginning apparently. Maybe not so much for GameStop but as I’ve come to understand from reading different s*** all day AMC and Nokia are/were primed to do similar things and it’s already been set into motion

there is no political side. media is just creating a narrative to get people to bail the hedge funds out
journalism only exist in this day to protect companies and rich elites

nokia isn't shorted
AMC is shorted but nowhere near the same extent as GME

If the problem was they dont have enough shares why didnt the CEO say that on cnbc though

It shouldn't. It'll come back down to earth when people realize that, fundamentally, its value is nowhere near to what it is now. Gamestop was a borderline awful company that has had declining revenues over the past few years. If you believe that a company is just the present value of all of its future cash flows, then there is no way in hell that GME should be priced the way it is. What about its future cash flows has changed so dramatically to justify a price increase of this scale? All that this is is retail investor mania, and the price will fall back down to earth and some people in retail will get f***ed by this.

I just wanna make like $100

because theyre going public soon and admitting to a liquidity problem would absolutely f*** them
