It’s funny because Kendrick “disappearing” just proves all their theories about Kendrick wanting to “replace” Drake incredibly wrong

Nigga whooped his ass, dropped an album, toured, then went right back home

That's the old narrative that's since been retconned. Now he was just a pawn for Hov/Roc Nation the entire time

Everything being pushed by these labels are recycled trash mostly. They thought they had a formula that was timeless. More money in marketing is their solution

Oh wow and since Kendrick failed to drop slop every year to replace Drake

Now it’s Hovs turn to take him out

    That’s the cope now right?

It was literally declared by hip hop radio heads and i think elliott(?) tweeted it out. Dudes who were so obsessed with hating Drake jumped the gun on crowning Kendrick and he’s just disappeared like usual and it’s funny to watch. Anyway, AOTY iceman out now

Kendrick dropped a huge album at the end of 2024, did the Super Bowl at the start of 2025, and toured globally from Spring 2025 through to the end of the year

What exactly is he supposed to be doing right now?

Rap is the only genre where you apparently have to be "outside" literally 24/7 or else you get people saying that you disappeared

Guy dropped an album and toured it, then went back home to his family, and that's somehow a problem

Unfortunately true. Still a market for those that want quality but it is more work on the listener

It will piss Drake/his fans off so much if Kendrick never acknowledge dude again not even subs and start making g funk country music or sum abstract s*** not even worried about competing with dude lol

Lmao so because Elliot Wilson and "radio hip hop heads" say something Kendrick has to redirect what he already wants to do?

The fact that we even discussing this when Iceman (which was actually pretty good) just dropped says everything. F*** dot era is it the Drake era again since dot "failed" to do whatever (make a bunch of songs with sexy redd and Yung miami, give stimulus to no name niggas and appear on streamer s*** lol)?

it's stale, our old leaders are all either retired or fell off and nobody from the newer gen picked the ball up. They just went all in on safe stream bait music.

Drake and Kendrick both coming out of their beef looking to sell albums instead of pushing themselves creatively sucked, even if you liked either of their outputs. Cole's album was the most came and went s*** ever, Rocky/Future, etc. nobody is really trying. Anybody that debuted post-2015 is too stream-brained to care about making culturally defining music. Kanye is coming out of his rut but it's too late for him to make any impact now that half the listeners that would check for new music from him are gone.

If everyone is going to make the same s*** that gets played out after a week, casuals will just go back to playing Drake or listening to older stuff.

Streaming has conditioned listeners to not care after a week so not a lot of effort will go into albums that are meant to be lived with

  • Lmaoooooo dot era means he doesn’t drop anything im crying his bots are all defending a dogshit album 2 years ago and his SZA tour

    1. Elliot wilson and random radio rap heads should have nothing to do with actual expectations from Kendrick

    2. Why are we talking about a dot era as opposed to it solidly being a “drake era” again after he dropped his best album in a decade. Lmaoo like wht would dot have to do to have a dot era if dude just dropped three albums and its not “drake era” lol

    Icepacks...we got work 2 do....

Who married Hip Hop to the charts?

Charts is a construct for labels to measure they d*** size. Had never anything to do with what hip hop stood for.

    50 Cent

  • Elliott Wilson just crowned this era as the dot era again thank you Kendrick (where is he?)

Calling new rappers “safe streambaiters” is hilarious
