during covid
1 second. WFH
post covid
20 minutes there. 20 minutes back
long commutes are for the desperate and needy. no thanks!
3 hours so crazy but living here in LA when i used to take public transit it was about 2:30-2:45 when i calculated walk and transfers.
Couldnt afford a car at the time
but time flies
I have to commute 3 days of the week only so not too bad
45-65min door to door depending on train waits
I have 2 subway transfers, so 3 trains total
80 miles round trip lmao
But honestly as much as that sucks, I’d take it any day over the work from home s***. Did that during Covid and I f***ing hated it.
Real life human connection over staring at a screen locked in a bedroom any day
Im working 75 days straight doing various event production jobs and have to commute 3-4 hours public transportation each way the only thing that gets me through it is Shazamming the songs homeless people play they got some bangers
Any of y’all got a commute this crazy or am I the alpha here
20 minutes, pedestrian
As a pool guy, I get up whenever I want (still don’t like to waste time so I like to get up early) and get in my truck and go to my first pool. I live in the next city over from majority of my pools so it usually takes me a good half hour to get over there

Yeah I worked from home mostly for like a decade and I'm happy to get out of the house now
20 mins in the morning with no traffic. 30-45 in the afternoon. All city.
I've done an hour highway with no traffic before. Never will again.
3-4 hours each way is od. i would not be able to do it. if i get this gig i had a trial shift at then my commute is 50min metro or 50min bicycle

my boy is somewhere in munich and his commute is like six hours a day
my old coworker commute was 3 hours a day from amsterdam metro to downtown
both 'figured this out' by getting into a lifetime debt aka buying a house
the fact that all these companies got offices downtown for absolutely zero f***ing reason is beyond insanity
Only like 10 minutes now. I work with some guys that live 2-3 hours away and live out here for the work week
my hometown commutes were both 40 min walks but at least they were pretty and obv i could always ride bus or taxi
its completely incomprehensible for me to wake up at five to hop on a train at 6 and return home by eight. thats three hours a day to cook eat do chores and live some semblance of a life on six hours of sleep. F*** THAT

geez
the money would have to be outlandish for me to even consider tbh
or i would have to be extremely desperate
im just counting my lucky stars for now
I have to roll out of bed and go all the way upstairs. It’s a huge pain

Fat f***
went from 2h per commute (bus > subway > bus)
to working remotely from wherever I want
