    i sometimes have ppl tryna buy beats and i have NO idea how that s*** works. like i heard of BMI and i use traktrain but idk what rly happens when the sale happens, cus ive also sold beats on youtube an s*** and i dont wanna do niggas dirty on accident by not knowing my legal s***

    never sold thru traktrain but i thought they do that s*** for you. iirc leasing works like for x amount of streams before they have to lease again, or whatever time period like a year or 2.
    dont think its automatic u might have to keep track and remember to invoice them.

    Word, tbh i never sold any beats from traktrain the artist just cash apped me, like theres no legal paperwork involved. Idk if i need to copyright my beats for me to have any protection

    technically u already own the copyright since u made the beat. registering is a different beast.

    do those artists use your beat and upload the finished song to streaming? are you credited there as the producer or anything.

    the times i've sold beats or given them to someone, they usually ask for my email and full name so they can add me to the split and proper credit. i havent reached the point to where contracts are being dished out n s*** lol

    Yea that makes sense, ill jus watch for the streaming numbers, a couple songs are on soundcloud/spotify that ive produced

    Id be surprised if the artists im talkin about are pulling in real cash but who knows
