not true at all.
there’s a black dude in Germany on tiktok rn who’s been spamming the same song snippet since October in different forms of content. dresses normally, no jewelry, just him in front of the camera doing s***, sometimes in low quality phone camera video
and he’s ran up his followers to 150k and buddy looks like Travis Hunter. Not even a uniquely talented singer, he just wrote a really good song for the snippet to catch mad attention
Tiktok actually values you looking more amateur

Aye YO ⏸️
like genuinely what's the play? if you managed someone super talented how would you be advising them to go about it in this f***ed ass landscape that done existed for a minute? been thinking about this lately, what do yall think
from what im seeing recently you have to be in the room
This is the era of spectacle
There is so much content that only the wildest s*** rises above the noise and gets attention
That being said you have to dress wild and or act wild be in a bunch of drama have a s*** ton of jewelry and be attractive (if female) for people to even look your way and care about what you are doing
UNLESS you are INSANELY talented, like 1 of 1 talented. You won’t get attention being basic and just being “aight”, not happening lol
its crazy and sad that when you think about it there hasnt been any even serious underground dudes bubbling and getting cosigns while also dropping good albums. even last decade guys like wiki and ratking felt legit larger than life, and they toured bars and s***

Ian had the best chance but the music isnt good.
It might take a few years of consistency to get on, but that's how it's always been. Most people stop being consistent after a year or so. Then by the time year 3 and 4 come by and it's been no work, there's nothing left but imagination of what could've been
All it really takes is the right cosign
They ain't gonna cosign you unless you prove you got that dog in you

Im not saying artists should do nothing and wait for someone to boost them, it takes a lot, i think for the audience tho the most important thing is the cosign from an artist that they already like and respect a lot of the time it might even be subconsciously

i love this beat tho

Even if you do all of this for a few years you might end up with like 30k monthly listeners
Success isnt guarenteed but this stuff raises ur chances
Become a streamer then do whatever artistic endeavor afterwards once what you’ve built an audience.
It's so much better to have a small-medium sized fanbase that is strong and supports you than you make it big imo
You look for Westside Gunn at a WWE show and rap for him on the spot. Works all the time.
That's my plan, f*** nigga!
There’s like a new young underground artist breaking through the industry every other day lol
