If they were really ur friends, you would respect their history and not say it, use fella or Nathan or people u dont have to say it

Ain’t no disrespect when they don’t take it as such and ain’t too stupid to understand context. Not everybody is Twitter and KTT.

But it is tho. Ur saying a slur around black people when ur white, u know the history I dont need to inform u about it.

Like imagine rapping "I call it KKK 'cause my choppa hate niggas" when ur around ur "black friends" u dont think that's disrespectful at all ?

S*** like this is why all these suburban white kids on KTT think it’s okay for them to say...
Even if it was okay for Eminem in this situation to say (it wasn’t but even if) now his white fans think they got free passes as long as it’s lyrics or they got a black friend

Line was OD even coming from him. I mean if we wanna get technical and take it there, that line was on some Doja Cat self racist type s*** in the first place. Plus 21 trash so wouldn’t happen lmao.

But in any STANDARD non over the top example like the one you jus used? No it’s never been a problem once. Nobody in Chicago cares about this internet ass bullshit lmfao.

I’m jus saying that people who sit here and obsess over BLACK music, BLACK art, BLACK culture, and put so much money into black men and women’s pockets, are prolly pretty f***ing far away from what an ACTUAL racist is. Yall love to stretch s*** and reach as far as you possibly can. A mf sings a song verbatim by a black man that they idolize but they’re “racist”. Foh.

Comedians made fun of Michael, even Michael laughed at those jokes privately.
But he definitely felt a way about that eminem s***

Maybe it became too much even, mj was human after all.
"Everybody made fun of Michael" = yes, kick him while he's down because everyone does, portray and mock his trauma (hair burning incident which left him addicted to pain medicine) and broadcast it to the million of viewers (you gained by making black music and affiliating with black artists - dr dre who put him on) you attract on a channel (mtv) my band (Jackson 5)was the first black act allowed on.
    Totally cool right

MJ liked the jokes about his voice Or small stuff. But comedians at that time made fun of his allegations and weird stuff he did.

Snl and madtv had like weekly sketches making fun of Michael at that time.

If u can see how that line is disrespectful it is to say other line like "niggas ain't s***" I dont f*** with niggas" "my nigga, my nigga"

This isnt just some internet s*** tho. Like deadass ask ALL the black people u know not just ur friends if they're okay with u singing nigga in a song. Just cause they ain't call u out on it doesnt mean they're okay with it. They might not want to speak up or avoiding conflicts.

Because u have mutiple black people in this thread telling u that u singing nigga is making them feel a way but ur ignoring it and chalking up to some internet s*** even tho we exist in real life too.

True but, Eddie griffin made fun of the pedophile allegations, in private, and he laughed about it (according to him at about 7:45sec)

Yeah this discussions revolves around understanding how black legends are viewed. It's the same for lgbt pioneers/legends.
You don't think it looks weird when eminem can make fun of women, black artists, lgbt artists (all the whilst the playing field not being the same for those artists) and go relatively unscathed. other artists don't get supported as much simply because of their sexual orientation (that's why some stay in the closet) or the color of their skin.
Im sorry but hos antics make him look like an out of touch asshat. The system played out in his favor.
Please receive this critique as being towards that industry more than too him (he obviously was unaware and wanted to just make jokes)

That’s what Eminem built his brand.

Kinda like how 50 can get away with saying crazy s*** all the time and be fine in corporate offices. This is their brand from the start.

That’s just what he was from beginning and people say “it’s Em being Em”

Yup, but mj and stevie wonder are allowed to feel a way about it
And anyone can deem what they built their brand on as low-hanging fruit, genius marketing,or both.

Man I’m not gon keep going wit this s***. I literally have an anti racism tattoo on my hand and I’m not gon sit here arguing about singing songs lmao. It has never caused a problem in real life, wit strangers or otherwise. I don’t say it in conversation, I’ve never used it as an insult, but if artists want to feel a way about their FANS THAT PUT MILLIONS INTO THEIR POCKETS singing the lyrics that they wrote, then they shouldn’t put them in there. It’s that simple. Because I know when I go to a Kendrick show and look around and see a 75% white crowd, not a single person is silent at the end of each bar in “Maad City”. But they all there showing love and respect and making that man rich and powerful. But they’re racists right?

It's not even about being racist at this point, I'm sure Em and a lot of white raps that say it at concerts are not racist, it's about respecting someone's culture.

You wouldn't go to japan and wear ur shoes in someone's house.

U singing nigga is not respecting our culture at all. Just because people around u dont check u for it dont mean it's not a problem.

If ur really down for the culture u would respect what black people are saying instead of chalking it as some internet s*** and ignoring it

Well... what else are they gonna obsess over?? white culture is trash and inclusion in other cultures is harder to obtain because black culture is profitable, everywhere and thus, inclusive

None of this means anything if you understood how being racist is not a 'this' or 'that' side, hot or cold concept. People can house (sub)conscious discriminatory animosity towards a culture without ever truly understanding their entertaining it. It's very much blatant on forums like these which consist mainly of teenaged caucasians... the same Caucasians that claim they could never be like them racist!!... but the minute you scratch below the surface, you ask them for their opinion on a controversial matter (like this) or perhaps just enquire about their beliefs in certain aspects of society... you will most likely uncover something. How you can say something like that on the internet of all realms, is ridiculous... unlike irl where caucz are careful, the internet has you people going crazy

But HEY! you spend an unhealthy time on KTT and are somewhat infatuated by a dominant culture, so surely none of that means anything

Wanna talk about racism when you wanna throw in that “you people” again jus like everybody else ITT that shared similar sentiments. Whole point loses all meaning soon as you wanna say some racist ass bullshit cause for all that you wanna criticize me for on this topic, not once was I ever on some disgusting ass “You people” s*** like the mfs ITT. Wanna talk about racism but throw boulders in the same glass house.

KTT been racist as f***. F*** yall for keeping the cycle going. It’s disgusting coming from EITHER side, although you too are clearly unaware of that.

Naw you jus gotta love when mfs preach about so called “racism” when they themselves are blatant loud mouthed racists. Been seeing the s*** on here and it’s disgusting. This thread is nothing but another example of it.

S*** is irrelevant anyways because I’m 100% Italian and stay getting confused for Hispanic. 3 closest friends are black and Puerto Rican. Growing up in Chicago I was always primarily around Hispanics and didn’t really have white friends. I’m not “these white people”. F*** out my face about “these white people”. It ain’t one size fits all.

You jus as disgusting as “these white people” you hate so bad if you saying bullshit like this and you doing nothing but maintaining the cycle that you claim to want to end so bad.
