DG>Yeezus>Rodeo>MotM is making me laugh my ass off imagine the guy who follows that line. Fools
but ktt discovered 100 gecs before fantano
Through a flowchart then I imagine
How the f*** is there no N.E.R.D album or Young Thug on this flowchart? Get this s*** outta here man.
That's how you know when a C A C created the chart
Imagine recommending The Money Store as your first industrial hiphop album instead of Yeezus smh
nah not thru a chart.
Somehow I doubt it’s a coincidence you’re an apologist for this flowchart s*** and you listen to them
This why sometimes I find this hip hop discussion s*** corny af.
" Ooh look at me i'm a f***ing nerd! I talk about how so-and-so didnt do enough numbers first week, drake's legacy in the rap game( every single f***ing day), and how JPEGMAFIA is one of the best artists out right now "
shut the f*** up

Imagine putting this bullshit together and leaving out Checkmate by Jadakiss
The audacity to tell me about hip hop but haven’t heard a gangster and a gentleman
This why sometimes I find this hip hop discussion s*** corny af.

It’s really weird when people come here to argue over sales and not strictly to post songs and get jokes off

The point isn’t about the design of the charts or any of that nonsense, it’s the fact that people are using them to triangulate what albums they should add to their personal backlog so they can say they’ve listened to it. As a result it cuts you off from experiencing the music on a spiritual and emotional level. The reason I listen to the music I listen to is because I can relate to, on at least some level, the themes beneath its surface and the culture that surrounds it. That’s what music is first and foremost: art, which makes it intrinsically tied to culture. It’s meant to be experienced as such, not relegated to a todo list that you just consume without absorbing or experiencing anything real.

It doesn’t cut anything off spiritually or emotionally. Charts are a great way to discover new music and diving into different genres.
But if we being real your take is very pretentious

Nah it’s not, I’m just being real about how you types of listeners come off to those people who listen to it for natural reasons. I can see why it would come off as pretentious but it’s really not.

People listen to music for different reasons dude
There is no “right” way to listen to music
It has a backstory
Need to get that band+watch more in the pic
