Seems to me you made a good choice by leaving and travelling, and right now you're sad, because you are focusing on the social aspect, not yourself. But sadness is not always a bad thing, in fact, it can be good. It looks like this situation almost needed to happen, hence why you keep going, despite stating all these negative things. It's probably because you feel like you need to do this.
One day you will settle, and that's when you will find your real friends. I spend years talking to noone irl except for my parents, and I still remember that feeling very well. But i couldn't have become the person i am now without that period of isolation. I wouldn't have met my current friends if i hadnt become the person that I was destined to become

but also very strange. most of the time i don’t feel happy or sad, i’ve just been. it’s been like dying while getting to watch how everyone would react. i left and haven’t had anyone reach out except my parents and brother. super lucky and privileged to have them, but it’s been an insane reality check

funny thing is it only has to happen to you once that you wouldnt ever stay at a non-priv hostel again. i remember me and my girl were in a four-bed room and the guy was straight up beating his girl who was with him
