addicts aren't choosing love over d****, it's actually hard to kick habits
It's not some "love yourself ans it'll be okay" type thing

Where dealing with d**** and sometimes painful withdrawals

The self-love shtick works for minor insecurities not brain altering d****
If love was more potent than d****, relapsing wouldn't be a thing.

So even through your self-love lense I don't think it was a good observation on jcole's part

Unless he's talking to people who have never experienced nor witnessed what addictions or srs mental issues are like

well coming from a addict and someone who's fresh outta rehab i think it absolutely is a self love type of thing
i was killing myself because i hated myself and i can't say that rehab fixed that since it didn't the first time i went but this second time it did give me a place to think while being clean. Loving and caring about myself again is what got me clean and is what's been keeping me clean these last couple of months.

So I think Cole's message was real albeit a bit corny in the delivery but the message is there and it's real for me and im sure to a bunch of other people too
