I don't have a better idea than that I'd rather protest democrats and push the Overton window away from neoliberalism while they're in power than have to fight against minorities being disappeared or killed while the rest of our societal fabric is severely damaged under this current admin.

But to your point, the real answer isn't backing either horse. I'm just heartbroken by the violence that will be required to see the other side of this.

I've spent the last 6 years of my life working for nonprofits and specifically working with undocumented immigrants. I'm a child of immigrants. Undocumented immigrants have been getting f***ed over for years. Even during the Obama administration. Undocumented immigrants are the backbone of this capitalist bs. All sold a fallacy in the "American dream" Everything you're seeing unfold rn is an all of our faults in one way or another. Either by choosing not to inform yourself because it's "negative" or allowing yourself to be manipulated (hence continuous lack of funding in education)

The US is f***ed and my heart weeps for future generations but I'm not gonna die for its next revolution. My goal is to survive and start a nonprofit in another country in the next few years. Only thing tying me to this s***hole rn is my mom but she is getting old and sicker every year. Once she passes I'm outchea and I don't feel like I owe this country or the people in it s***.
