Strongly disagree I love it when artists take risks. Far from his best work but I love deeply personal music. Also inspired me to seek out therapy to work through my own s***. It's amazing

Glad it helped you out brother

I love it when they talk about "feeding the fans" like there aren't countless other artists to listen to

Right lmao. Kendrick took one haitus and Drake fans act like he's frank ocean. Every 2-3 years is a perfect cadence for albums from an artist

I think his general consensus is the same as it's always been

People really do forget how little of Drake's fanbase is online and cares about rap beef

You’re trippin lmao they were all online for the past 4 months crying

I’m saying we have word for word examples of Drake rapping other niggas songs and then putting his name on it.

    Who is 'They'

And where was this happening online?

Less than like 1% of all people in the world are on twitter. You really think the people who will actually buy drake tickets, buy drake merchandise, buy his albums, are online in comments debating rap beef? Like Fr?

    it's a very loud minority

% of the world on twitter is a bad metric to use because it includes babies and old people and people who might not have consistent internet access or live in the English speaking world.

I’m sure the average person attending a Drake concert in the US and Canada has a social media account

Well for the Drake level acts, not really.

It's not that they aren't online, it's that that the ones who aren't online or the ones who are but aren't really engaging, far supersede what you really see.

Not saying you haven't been to a drake show, but just look at who's buying his concert tickets and spending actual dollars on him. They don't give a f*** about this s*** like that lol

Perhaps, but what percentage of those people are using their social media account to defend drake in a rap beef?

What percent of those people are going to change their habits towards drake because of a rap beef? And that's my point, that number is most likely so low that the general consensus on him isn't going to change, unless you're talking about Elliott Wilson's comments type s***.

For perspective, 10% of users on twitter represent like, 92% of all tweets on that platform.

  • Aug 9, 2024

as much people stan both kendrick and drake you would be surprised if you knew the amount of people that literally did not care or follow the beef

I know everyone has their own take on everything but there's usually a general consensus and I can't figure out what it is here.

Some people were elated to see him finally get booted out of the culture and ngl I was in this group. He was seen as a bad actor, imitator, and generally weird guy. It wasn't just a beef, it was a cultural takedown.

Then you have the stans that are for him regardless.

But I'm unsure about the third group, the ones that have no stake in the game and were just there for the drama and music, and either want him to come back despite all the things he's been exposed for, or are indifferent. Does this group hold general consensus? Has the rap fandom really been breached this badly?

"Has the rap fandom been breached this badly"
You're only saying this because it's Drake.

There's rappers that have done horrendous s*** that are still welcomed and celebrated.

Probably a lot of them bro. At the very minimum this was like top 3 trending in the US for weeks. It’s not the far fetched for maybe half his fanbase to leave a comment about this s*** on a social platform

It is INCREDIBLY farfetched. Most twitter users don't even tweet. On Average, people tweet like once a month, if that.

To assume that Half of Drake's ENTIRE fanbase is online defending in a rap beef is pretty crazy.

In general, most people who have social media accounts do not engage, so the engagement you're seeing is from a very loud minority.

That 10 percent is 37 million people. Average age between 25-early 30 something. Not really that far fetched

The third group likes the music and the pdf jokes so they want Drake to exist in their sphere
