Ty verse on After Dark
🌀🧩
it was his greatest single run but failed to deliver an album of that caliber
i remember the run, he went on an almost year break. Then started being on so many legendary feats like Look Alive, had amazing singles... People were really thinking this was the one, but it wasnt
Scorpion dissapointed me so much i stopped being a huge drake fan ngl
For clb im taking champagne poetry, girls want girls, way 2 sexy, TSU, Pipe down, 7am on bridle path, race my mind, get along better, you only live twice, Papis home, f***ing fans as a new tracklist.
Dont know why he wasted not putting laugh now cry later or any scary hours 2 songs on it instead of jsut making them singles
knife talk is catchy but weird on the album
In the bible I like parts of but is rly slow
Fair trade would be great without Travis
Survival, nice for what, emotionless, gods plan, nonstop, after dark, in my feelings, Sandra’s rose, 8 out of 10, is there more, and March 14 I like. I forgot which one of these but the one with good guy line tho has some bad writing tho it’s kinda cringe.
Nonstop is a hit so it should stay but imo way too long, mob ties is kinda cringe but sounds really good and catchy, jaded is also good but insanely creepy lol.
Like most of Drake s*** I’m talking purely like for the fact it sounds good and is catchy also I don’t rly gaf about a lot of the s*** he be saying but is there more and March 14 was special
Top 3 Drake, but the push that album received was criminal. Most blatant industry push Ive ever seen tbh.
a little messy but not bad.
i find it more interesting how much FATD has grown on me. The RnB records on that are straight up amazing.
I would add 7AM on Bridle Path, Get Along Better, F***ing Fans and The Remorse
Remove the best songs????
Its crazy when u have people ranking your failures
yeah
but that's what comes with the fame
he's built for it, he wouldn't still be on top if he wasn't
Scorpion was such a fun era and has many enjoyable songs. I’m relistening to it and I can’t help but think with retrospect it may be the last hurrah of “old Drake” which makes it mean a little more to me
Scorpion is uneven but to say it’s bottom 3 is giving CLB, FATD, and Thank Me Later too much credit
CLB ?
u took some dior sauvage to the face or wot ?
Sandra’s rose is phenomenal
Maybe preem’s last great beat
If Drake really wanted to flex his hip hop knowledge and credibility he’d get a sick premo beat for iceman
Kendrick and Cole dont a notable song with arguably the greatest producer in hip hop history
But Drake does, take from that what you will
FATD >>>>>>
I wish I liked it nearly as much as lot of ppl in this section, really don't vibe w album personally. Thought the diss tracks + 100 gigs was way higher form tho so hyped for next album
Fantastic album with next-level commercial reception, not sure how this could be a failure
I remember Drake giving an interview during the Big Scorp-era where he said he felt inspired by Thriller (not comparing Scorpion to Thriller BTW) in that nearly every song on the project was a hit and he wanted to do the same. By that measure Scorpion was somewhat a success:
All massive hits. I do think the double album thing was a bit of a gimmick at this was the start of the overly long projects where the quality control wasn’t there.
The leaks that we got from that era post-Big Scorp prove that, Vital, Deep Pockets and From Florida With Love were all recorded during that era but not placed on the final album, yet we got RHB, Peak and weaker rap performances instead.
calling this album a failure is the definition of drakes career even when hes at the top of the world they'll find a way to rewrite the story
