I was watching this video and it dawned on me that this kid ishowspeed is so incredibly talented, yet he finds success thru streaming doing dumb s*** when he could probably be out here doing amazing things daily
The millenials and gen z are completely shafted. If the most talented ppl have to resort to doing crazy stupid s*** for attention and money we are cooked. Like think about it, theres so many great artists athletes an minds that just never get used. Its seriously concerning

waitng @carlos_slim spin on this to form my reasonable opiumnion
Speed isn’t doing dumb s*** he’s a modern comedian and the least morally bankrupt streamer. Kai, Adin, and others went the wrong way Speed spreading joy and making people laugh and taking care of his family
Gen Z is definitely overlooked and forgotten. It’s hard for us to find jobs because of AI and boomers squatting on positions for so long. The generation or two before us had policies in place that for better or worse made it easy for them to buy property and get involved in industries. Some of those doors have closed for us and while the social media and content doors are open we’re facing an uphill battle compared to previous gens and I mean that in the least doomer way possible. We experienced some very important and formative years under lockdown because of COVID our world is kinda f***ed but we keep pushing
What is smart s*** in your opinion @op

idk maybe going to school, being a great athlete, inventing things, making art, building stuff
im not tryna be denigrating here but ishowspeed and them streamer kids literally just do jackass type stunts when theyre some of the smartest and most talented people
i dont have the answers, i just think its sad theres so much overlooked potential

ok yea im saying relative to what he COULD do, in terms of entertainment or art or something constructive, im sure hes capable of much more than these stunts
maybe speed is a bad example but i think my point is obvious
You can tell Kai is bitter and envious of how more respected he is as a streamer, that’s why he tried going down the path of “I’m not a streamer I’m an artist”
As someone that thought Speed was like the stupidest person alive (and still to this day wouldn’t watch a stream) I do have to say he has grown an organic following and a lot of his content is way beyond just sitting in front of a webcam begging for subs. Dude seems like one of the few from that generation who is true to himself while also getting to do a lot of dope s*** off the strength of his work
Yeah of course fame and/or money opens doors to more opportunities. You think the average person from Ohio or anywhere else would hit the accomplishments Speed has at his age without those ingredients
Talented people have gone unnoticed or unable to be in an opportune position for their talent to be seen for decades

I think you’re overestimating how talented these streamers are outside of streaming. Being able to entertain an audience for hours is a talent. Whether you’re doing it via gaming, giving takes on news, pop culture, or doing irl stuff.
When I look at the top streamers and see guys like xqc, Adin, Kai, etc these aren’t really guys that I see really doing much outside of the typical influencer thing
The oldest Gen Z would be 29 right now and the youngest 13, I think the ones impacted by COVID will be the most affected long-term but if you were 18+ before COVID you’ll be alright.
Millennials are cooked tho they’re absolutely the lost generation.

Its not rly about streaming that was just an example im talkin about an entire generation

I don’t follow him closely but from all the clips I’ve seen, he seems like a super thoughtful and kind human being. Seems like a genuinely good role model for these kids, that is absolutely impactful
I can tell most yall did not read the whole op which would take maybe 30 seconds
Speed is an extreme outlier. My point is the generation at large is not being utilized or utilizing their talent
havent watched the vid but just retorting to ur statement, id say speed was doing a lot of dumb s*** early in his career (as a kid)
but his global adventures have been nothing but comedy and inspirational to kids. Im tired ppl expecting bourdain level content. Maybe he'll get there one day but hes far and away doing better than his peers
