Young DI get the fact that people that sign up for the military need to take responsibility for their actions
However at the same time I have deep empathy for them and have a similar feeling about this that I have about capital punishment (even when the person being put to death is 100% guilty of a violent crime). I feel like it’s inhumane to do capital punishment, it’s barbaric and there’s something deeply soulless about having the government inject death into someone.
And with this, even though they signed up for the military, most signed up prior to this war — and now some are clearly showing deep regret but are still being forced to go have a high percentage chance of being killed in a scary ground invasion that they likely don’t support or understand how it benefits the US. I cannot imagine that level of regret and fear. A lot are extremely young, poor, and highly uneducated. S*** is f***ed.
