I think people just have wrong expectations, of what it means to be signed to OVO.

None of us know the agreements made between the artists and OVO. To me it seems that the artists are happy and they earn enough to have a good life with music as your fulltime job. Maybe that's all they wanted. Doing the music they WANT to do on their terms.
