Enjoyed this a lot. Tight story, interesting cast and a gripping story

Wish i knew more about this tug of war in Iran's film scene though. How is Panahi able to film these without permit, be jailed at various points, leave to distribute it at festivals, and just freely come back to Iran? Mohammad Rasoulof's went through a far more dramatic exile last year and even he's also talking about a potential return to the country. Its not like the Islamic Republic doesn't know they're just going to secretly make a new film highly critical of it.

I guess since they bring prestige and attention they're extended a a huge tightrope to walk

Hamar seemed bipolar or something, that dude came on the scene with such energy

yeah man, if you want a controlled tense story that's engaging the whole way, I feel like this would actually play well for people who don't usually watch foreign films, too

Loved the way this looked and felt. Many scenes play out in long take form that gave them a stage play like feel which is even more so helped by the way Panahi used the physical prop of the car to wall to have scenes take place within long take scenes, close a door then pan to the right for another “scene”

Really tense, really serious and engaging movie. Love that the script trusted the audience’s attention span, we’re given just enough information over the course of the film to fill in some of the ambiguous blanks. Really great film.
