Who Killed Michael Jackson is an updated version of an old Jay E song right? I feel like I heard this before
No I don’t think so
I enjoyed the rapping, skits always get tiresome with time, and for a 7 track album I’ve never heard so many skits and interludes
Terrible take. The main reason I listen to Jay Elec is the skits and sounds of applause, straight up his use of atmosphere and myth is unbelievable. My favorite moment of this is the 4 minute ufo speech, took me back to 2007. Made me emotional
S*** is about to go so dumb in the gym
New deadlift PRs when the UFO briefing starts
Jay Elec might low lowwwkey be back
Expecting him to disappear for another 7 years of course
Who Killed Michael Jackson goes so crazy
UAP hearing audio fits so damn well lmao

Yeah the sound collage element is one of the more appealing part of his muisc. He might of went a lil overboard with it on here tho but still has its charm

I hope he stays active after this the game needs it

Similar drum pattern

Also kinda like bey & Kendrick's freedom
The original is still prob the strongest rap album of the decade so far
I don't mess with Hov on it most of the time, there's that song sampling Rhianna. Loved the instrumental when I first heard it on youtube. Then hov is on it rapping wayyy to fast for the beat, ruined it.
I love conspiracy theory rap, jay electronica is my favorite third eye ancient alien sacred geometry rapper

No one will ever do it better
Wait new songs? Are we actually back?!
Yessir, beautiful day
So, two sides of a coin as i listen to Jay elect a bit older than i was when i first discovered his music. Do I buy into Jay elect’s conspiracy raps? Or Elijah Muhammad’s divinity? No. And also his online persona can be bizarre.
There are a few things however that he’s a master of.
1. He has this great way of pulling references whether a vocal sample or historical references and figures extremely uniquely. I’ve critiqued his recent features a lot because they are very mailed in but on here you get the full Jay elect ecosystem, which always works to his benefit imo.
2. He’s incredible and one of the best on speaking on human emotion and struggle especially when introspective. Track 4 second verse is a great example of this. “Another fallen star that crashed, another crater.” “The color that she says she hates the most of all: invisible.”
3. I like to believe in God, albeit very differently from Jay Elect. I do think he’s genuinely curious about spirituality and I like that he puts it in his music almost as if he’s on a quest.
So I hope there’s more full length stuff to come. This was very encouraging to hear him because it’s easy when you have some mailed in features and are being silly online to forget how talented he can be.
