Jesus is King is Kanye's Ye 2.0

He isn't trying to please anyone. I honestly don't think this is a religious album as much as it is Kanye doing what he meant to do on Ye. This is his spiritual and emotional rebirth and I think he succeeded in the every way.

No, it's not a MBDTF2, it's what Kanye is feeling is good for him right now. It's pure healing energy and I think this is what he needs to regain his passion for music. The fact that the album seems rushed, and is still a great album proves that Kanye is still the best in the music industry. He wants to show himself that even a rushed album can be some of his best work if fully fleshed out. I'm open to hearing your opinions but I think this could've been a top 3 album if he took thousands of hours to finish it like he did for MBDTF. Kanye's attempt at blending christian music and rap is his attempt at redefining another genre, and the fact that is half assed may just be based on the fact that he is focusing on his family and fashion more at this moment in time. I think if we give Kanye enough time then the old work ethic we all know and love will come back.

After listening to Ye it's clear that JIK is the second step in his revival phase. Be patient friends. Ye's best work is still yet to come.

Kanye definitely getting his swag back after his album hit #1. You know he feels like “I can make a gospel album and s*** on these niggas? I’m the greatest of all time” and we need that Ye back

I completely understand Kanye wanting to redefine himself, and I think hitting #1 on an album like this a way to prove to himself that he still has a lot of juice left in the tank. I honestly doubt Kanye is going to go back to full Yeezy mode after the album, but I think we are going to be getting a Kanye renaissance after this album for sure.

I think JIB will be solo 10. I think the greatest artist of all time Yeezy is back. I probably wrong since I thought yandhi would drop and prove he’s the best to everyone that doubted him, but clearly he chose to go the religious route.

I agree but JIK blows Ye out of the water. Imo it's comparable to TLOP quality wise.

After the music video today I realised he's given us a new aesthetic

oops hit post too early, but I think JIB will be the album we wanted. This was basically ye 2.0 like you said. It was a very in the moment type album imo like Ye

damn u don’t like TLOP? I personally thought ye was pretty f***ing good, not amazing but good same with JIK. TLOP and yeezus are my two fav albums so I might be in the minority. I don’t think jik is better than ye though. I think it might be because I’m Muslim and I can’t really bother listening to jesus is lord and I can come to terms with ye finding his inner peace, but for the most part I thought jik was beautiful

As much as I want JIB to be a great album, I have a feeling it's going to be the same Sunday Service songs we've heard for months in studio quality. I'm going to wait for his next solo attempt to make any judgements

Agreed you’re 100% correct. I’m high as s*** and just hopeful haha

That's understandable. I have a Judeo-Christian background that probably shapes my opinion of JIK to some degree

I really didn't like JIK at first, but after listening to it again a few times tonight, I think the future it bright. This is a new era

  • Nov 9, 2019

    They aren’t similar at all

  • Nov 9, 2019

Nah, as much as I enjoy ye, it doesn't have a defining and lasting sound, whereas JIK has its own sound and is a new direction in kanye's musical career which I hope he'll expand on on his next solo

  • Nov 9, 2019

they're both awful, so yes I agree brother HH
