This was 42 pgs when I was last here… tf yall talking about when there are no updates
Who will get recast as kang
Like if you seen someone on the street acting differently every time you seen them
you would think they are nuts lmaoo
s*** better yet if it was your homie
I’ll be honest
Idk how sane you can truly be if you’re a professional actor
these mfers pretend to be someone else completely and are actually phenomenal at it
lmao idk what to say to this cuz I see your point but then again this s*** a job like anything else
Brother in classic hollywood they was f***in wylin back then lmaoo the controversies werent as big back then cuz of people's values and s***.
MGM supposedly giving Judy Garland pills
John Wayne's racist ass
the whole Clark Gable / Loretta Young incident
etc
And talking about Leo's age gaps when the age gaps were even worse back then is insane I think Charlie Chaplin's first wife was like 16 lmaooo
For sure super f***ed up are but 99% of that was behind closed doors and not discussed till decades later. I'm saying they knew how to act in public and not get canceled. Studios did indeed hire detectives to follow them around all day and keep them out of trouble because they were so valuable when they were under contract.
I'm just trying to think of major controversies that actually resulted in jail or cancellation and all I can think of is the time Robert Mitchum got caught with some weed. And when Fatty Arbuckle got framed. Wayne just didn't give a f*** by the time he did that Playboy interview.

depends on the level of method acting . How in touch with their emotions someone is and all that jazz

As f***ed up as we're making it sound I gotta agree with you here, studios / PR management were way better at brand management for better or worse.
It's kinda why folks from that era get mythologized still, the mystique kinda gone.
And to circle back to my OG point Leo one of the few that gets it in that regard

true
yeah it wouldn’t apply to ppl like the Rock or whatever were they basically just a brand

I think asking any actor or actress to be type cast into crazy , overly powerful or anything just dangerous for their mind. Especially when they see a reward feedback for certain roles and how deep they have to get into it. Let them have their Breaking Bad runs cool but let them do whatever they want after.

no cap i feel like if you do intense roles you gotta do some s*** like a musical or something to calm you down lmaoo

Just not good for the brain I think and why make all money being associated with one dark emotion or anything

You could show me a mountain of receipts and I still wouldn't believe that Jimmy Stewart, Carey Grant, Gary Cooper, Sidney Poitier etc werent cool chill dudes lol

don't think Gandolfini managed to avoid it
Fair point fr
Heath Ledger situation should have lead to greater awareness of actors and actresses mental health throughout filming, after and on their come up for moments like this , shia , brad pitt and more. Not saying require therapy but definitely encourage therapy, breaks and limits

There are just so many cases like that. I am not saying Johnathan Majors did it I got no idea whether he did or not but if he really took roids or even had to get aggy for creed. Like what all goes into possibly changing someone's brain work for a role then they overall less themselves day to day and they can't even tell

Heath Ledger is a bad example for that cuz everyone who was with him on The Dark Knight said he was fun as hell, you gotta remember he died AFTER shooting and that's when he was going through the messy divorce with Michelle Williams and overdosed on the sleeping pills or whatever which is very easy to do.
I understand what you're getting at tho

Maybe this why DDL always says he's gonna retire and disappears for a while after doing Gang of New York and There Will Be Blood type role
he knows doing such a deep dive into the psychology of a villain is a dangerous slippery slope

Oh yeah I am not blaming the role alone for anyones misfortune I am saying while they are going through their reality and their role to watch out for them. Which includes after the role is completed and they are transitioning back into life til the next role

no cap when you look up those dudes wiki pages they don't have a "controversy" section like modern folks do lmao

Knew something was off about Michelle Williams. She's a murderer.

It is . Its exhausting and for what ? some awards then to get type cast or viewed as evil by some or constantly asked how you get into that mind frame. Villain or being very powerful or having to rapidly change your body weight for a role is dangerous
