Definitely a szn after this because of how it’s structured. I personally don’t think a movie after that is the right choice because of the insane cliffhangers

This show, of all shows, has the capacity to have crazy serialized animation that could match the manga

But I feel like a truly GOATed movie has to happen. Leaving too much money on the table. Imagining ANY of the last quarter of the manga, with s3/4 tier direction and MOVIE BUDGET is too good to pass up

I feel like the season gonna end on nah I'd win and that would transition into a goat film so easily

Still think its a mistake that (szn 4 spoiler) Gege didn’t have Yuta fight Meguna right after he posssesd megumi like maki and yuji did.

True, wouldn’t put it past MAPPA to not pass on big cash seeing as Demon Slayer is close to crossing a billi.

It’s all up in the air tbh and I don’t have a good track record of predictions

Ugh I could lowkey see them doing 2 movies then jumping to modulo as the next serialized thing....could suck, could be kino, but I see it happening

Hakari fight already looking peak

I kinda want a movie because it’s guaranteed to be an international hit that would make JJK even more popular than it already is. It being in theaters gives it a larger reach.

I also feel like the season will end with them straight up announcing a movie, maybe with a small preview similar to what the manga did to promote a volume for the fight where it was a super star headline between heavyweight champions. That would be hype as hell.

Plus a movie also means you get the time and attention it fully deserves without some production drama which messes up scenes even with the biggest animators on it like what happened with season 2.

Still want the Dagon fight reanimated lol and if Mahito’s fight got the same love and care as any fight in season 3 then it would’ve been the best fight of season 2. Just my hot takes.

It’s quite ironic that you wouldn’t be sympathetic to my perspective on a potential movie, considering that, out of everyone here, you know what it was like during the Shinjuku Showdown all the way until the end I just think the impact of those cliffhangers gets lost in a movie format

Gojo V Sukuna would be a sick like OVA hour, hour and a half special. But then yeah you’re dropped right into a cliff hanger. You could technically just do the next season after but it’s a lil sloppy idk

OVA is interesting because to justify a movie length where theres 50 chapters of fights will be hard, even if you extend the fights. Aside from the cliffhanger issue, action oriented chapters adapts more chapters. Best examples of this is eight chapters adapted in the Sendai Colony episode (which lots of ppl doubted could be done) or five chapters of the Zenin massacre in a single episode. Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting how they’ll tackle this problem.

No I get how bad it would be potentially for people to again s*** on the series but at this point, regardless of the way it’s done people are going to hate farm. I also believe no matter how it’s done though, the “revisionism” will happen where people will start loving it too just because it’s finally animated. For me personally, the Shinjuku showdown was probably my favorite part of the series so I’m happy af either way lol

My real reason for wanting a movie is I just don’t want the Gojo vs Sukuna episodes to be botched in any way. I want the most polish possible. If they don’t miss on that, then I prefer the episode format, despite the international success a movie would garner with it.

I cherish this series, I wouldn’t want any part sacrificed. I still would think a single season for the Shinjuku showdown could be done without feeling like it picked off from a tough movie cliffhanger. That’s how much I feel that battle has merit to stand on its own.

I think the going from nah I'd win season finale, into a movie that starts with the prep, does the whole fight, and kinda sets the stage for everyone getting hype to jump in, then everyone fighting in the final season sounds like a good momentum. Plus there's always gonna be flashbacks and little visions DURING the fight itself to reinforce the "cliffhanger" tempo, bringing some breaks between the different "acts" of the fight. I think a movie could really work

My only comment on this fight is I pictured it at night when I read it

I also want full form Sukuna to get hella detail every time he’s shown in the anime. Shinjuku showdown being a second cour wouldn’t get as much time as I would like for corrections. If it’s done a year or two out from a helluva successful movie, then you know Mappa is about to elevate the source material to oblivion for the final season. Plus more time spaced out makes the series just last longer. I need s*** to look forward to lol also still betting on a modulo part 2. It’s pretty much written in stone in my opinion

My hope for the final season is Gege going back to give Hakari vs Uraume a full fight. That and Yuji and megumi|| battling Sukuna in his inner domain were the only things more I could’ve hoped for. I loved Shinjuku Showdown so much already. To me it was damn near perfect

Another Mappa addition with Gege’s supervision I would like for season 4 is when Sukuna fights Yorozu, there’s times in the battle I hope it’s flashing to Megumi fighting Tsugumi. I know the underlying context of the battle is already there. I just want it to push it in your face too lol
