Apple Music just notified me about a new album released between two of the most unlikely to work together artists i could ever think of: an album from Black Noi$e (producer for Earl and Danny Brown among many many others) remixing songs by the band Earth:
boomkat.com/products/the-geometry-of-murder-the-extra-capsular-extraction-inversions
so Earth is p much the inventor of drone which is a genre that sounds exactly as the name suggests: it's droning walls of feedback for the entire song/album. really huge act among metal and doom fans. the frontman of Earth is Dylan Carlson who, among once again many things, was one of Kurt Cobain's best friends. i wont go into details of what part bro played in Kurt's life, would rather let google do the talking
anywhos seeing Black Noi$e remixing and putting his spin on this stuff is really really intriguing. i thought at this point theres just about nothing that can really take me by surprise in this music s***. but hey that just changed now. heres the link to stream it once again:

Thread came and went but turns out they actually linked up. Unfortunately I didn’t like the album and the cover is ai generated which is very unfortunate because all of this sounds crazy on paper
I read at work and meant to come home and research Earth cause I’m not really educated on drone but it’s disappointing you think it sucked. I’ll probably still check it out
Huge shame this didn’t turn out good because it sounds sick on paper. That cover too

check out the original album that this new one was remixing, its called A Bureaucratic Desire For Extra Capsular Extraction:

and if you want a more conventional entry point into the genre check out Earth 2:
this is the worst f***ing rollout ive seen recently, not only is the album not good but dylan carlson killed every bit of hype over it by refusing to perform next to a palestinian flag
