so i looked it up, and Makonnen is credited on 40 Funk as a producer because it samples I Mix My or Makonnen just reused the loop, since he produced that too

listening again, it’s definitely the same melody, sounds like the guitar was just swapped for a wind instrument but plays the same notes

you’re right, i think Makonnen just swapped the instrument but it’s all the same notes

I think they might be in the same key but the post song has the pad synth organ type instrument playing chords and the other one is an actual melody on a plucked string type instrument, it’s definitely not all the same notes
