I still remember Pharrell interviewing Kaytranada on OtherTone and telling him he wants to do a collab album with him... And Kaytranada essentially told him "nah" to his face. In other words of course. A sick fella.

Bro we couldβve had the most colorful album of all time, mood lifting for the ages. But nahhhh

Yeah it would've been incredible. Even just having Pharrell on Kaytranada production for multiple songs alone would be crazy. I'm not a fan of Midsection but I don't really count that as Kaytranada's sound tbh

Forgot about that Othertone show, liked it a lot back in the day.

Yeah the pandemic really halted it's progress. The remote shows aren't the same.

itβs his album with pinkpanteress and solo album
I just got into 99.9% recently, that s*** is incredible
Bubba didnβt hit as hard but Iβm still interested in any of his future output
Kaytra a goat. His versatility is crazy, from Mick Jenkins production to Lancey Foux placements, working with Syd, to Don Toliver, to Anderson .Paak, etc
Crazy part is thatβs such a small sample size of what heβs done. He really worked with so many different people and actually made good music with them too

That EP he made with IDK last year had some crazy songs too. Dog Food, Taco, The Code all really good

I heard heβs really picky on who he works with what the sound of a project will be

Ironically enough, he just dropped a song with Amine that is co produced by Pharrell.
