I already said this itt but I'll say it again, artists work all the time, he probably had a deadline from the label to drop an album months ago and they were planning on finishing it but since then things have changed...so the album was changed too because he got more time to work on it
A perfect example is when Kanye posts an album tracklist months before release and then when it drops the album is completely different

Ok you might have a point but here's a counterpoint , I don't think label decides his festival dates? it's Kendrick's say on it, so if he agreed on those dates then I'm sure he was really going to drop a month before his first European festival, but s*** happened. And I have no problem if he's gonna drop completely new project or slightly different cause a lot happen since then and we all wanna hear him rapping about that. It's just odd that he was shooting a music video in September so you may think probably a new single is ready to go if it's ready to go then probably album is done and if album is almost done then it don't make sense those two important artists still working on his album

Both things can be true. Kendrick works up until the album is ready. Of course he probably had an album complete. He probably also fine tuned that b**** and it’s gonna be even more spectacular. Ali about to have it sounding crispy
