Yeah such genius writing. Sad that such an incredible lyricist no longer has the ability to bring me to tears with his beautiful words

I could see if you said Institution or something but Dying To Live compared to recent stuff not much of a decline

    RAWR XD

When he came out of jail in 2018, he dropped the masterpiece Dying to Live. It was introspective and the songs felt well curated. After he came out with Last Day In I thought he would've been on a hot streak but now his songs sound low effort and has weirdo lyrics like "Dropped the pill down the toilet and I still ate it" and "She let me pee in her B-hole"

He’s always had the low brow stuff though, that A Boogie song Drowning had one of his worst of all time but is still pretty good sonically. He’s a lil all over the map lyrically but when he’s on he’s making classics

    Nah hes still elite lyrically

Maffioso and dont leave me are project baby level. Its just as we get more and more sensitive and pc the f***ery hes doing and has been doesnt fly. The eras of clout chasing and 6ix9ine esque sheningans are no longer interesting but seen as cringe

Y'all using the word elite very very loosely.

  • yeah, I thought Kodak was IT in 2015 - 2018. thought he might be the Wayne of his generation. his lyrics and cadences were so fire and crisp. now he's too melodic

we will probably never get the Like Dat, Lockjaw, Vibin in this Bih Kodak

Dying to Live mixed the melodic s*** and mainstream songs well. It’s less gritty than Instutuion but it had songs like Testimony came straight from the heart but his new s*** just sounds uninspired. Maffioso and Easter in Miami are some his better Post Prison 2021 tracks but they don’t compare to his old s***. He sounds more unfocused and just doing throwing s*** together to see if it gets a hit. Songs like Like Dat, No Flockin and Vibin in this Bih sound like he took time to write instead of just trying out melodies

He just seems to be wildin out and focused more on flexing on tracks like Feelin Peachy and Z Looks Jamaican. He still sounds like he’s flowing but none of that Lil Wayne metaphors/similes that he had coming up. There’s more Tyga h**** type lyrics than those Wayne bars
