And like i said i know there's still plenty of people who do actively search for music, i mean we on KTT after all but it really stood out to me, the amount of thread people made this year who stopped doing that

I stopped doing it myself too cause of multiple reasons, the main one being the ''album experience'' being a rarity since we got into the streaming era. I was always an album person myself. Also my fav artists not dropping/falling off and me not really liking the majority of the new rappers that everybody loves like Lil Baby for example

I post more in Film SXN now. When i stopped obsessing over music i found new appreciation for the film artform and i'm way more into that than music nowadays

the internet is definitely skewing your perspective of popularity in music

for those of you hating: have you ever put time and energy into a song? a music video? it feels incredible to put yourself out there like that.

imagine you spend 20-30 hours on a song or a video, post it, and then some internet rando insta-replies with "trash."

There is a huge market for all this on Instagram with the younger generations and people in their early 20s and I see it everyday

just listen to edm if u like this stuff, these artists usually waste great production

U kinda listing this things casually but I would bet most people in this thread would have no clue wtf the podcast is or the specific artists. There’s a mil musicians who have experienced like this and I feel like maybe you’re overstating the status of something within your niche interests

If your an artist you should be prepared for critique so that you can surpass opinions and prove them wrong

I listen to a lot of edm and jungle and acid and all that but it’s not wasted production if they did it themselves, everything they do is on purpose even if you think it’s just unironically bad

I get u but I’m not even calling it trash. But I feel like this is how people react to much of the artists on this site or elsewhere, as big as drake and Kanye or as small as the work in the thread. I’m not sure where the line is being crossed tbh of commenting what they think and fostering art they didn’t make with people I’m not sure they’d consider an immediate part of their community. Yes I’ve made music and videos and yes they take time. If people say it’s trash it just is what it is. Not everyone’s gonna like my stuff or theirs you know. We being kind to icejjfish?

ktt has always been like this towards new artists that aren't kinda popular

there's a pretty big difference of just saying some huge artist that will never have a chance of seeing your hate like drake or something is trash then hating super super hard like people in this thread and in other threads like this are doing to dudes who are super small with no real platform like that and just trying to make cool s***. You don't have to like it but the ultrahate being spewed at them for just making s*** they think will be cool is unnecessary and i would view it as unnecessary in any situation like this.

I mean people in here caping for positivity and being open but op straight up says “fuck all the boring s*** you guys post and listen to the future” but no one getting on him about demeaning all the music people post. Seems mad self centered tbh like we gotta care or like what u like
