I saw this one tweet where someone 30 years old said their top 3 was Soulja Boy, Chief Keef, and Carti ( think there was a thread on here about it)

what interested me wasn't the actual top 3, but the people replying saying, of course they were his favorite artists, they all popped during his formative years as someone who is 30

which made me think—do our favorite artists NEED to come from our formative years?

Is it possible for an artist to make an impact with the same kind of depth later in life as it was for artists to do it when we were 16 or 20?

I'm curious what your experiences are

Ive gotten really into mobb deep and the weeknd within the last year or two to the point where they’ve really risen to be favorites of mine when they weren’t before

Also was a pretty big jamie xx & xx fan already but got even more into them in the last year

So i feel like i still get into artist more but not brand new artist

Lady brand new artist that became a big fav was probably in the 2010s tbh

Edit: im one album away from being a full blown addison rae stan

favorite is something that develops over time for me, theres a bunch of new stuff i like but only time will tell if it stays with me

last one was prob big thief though
