Turns out the government actually pretends to give a s*** when pressure is applied. The whole “rising up against a tyrannical government” that the 2A talks about? This is how you do that without going to war and completely overthrowing the government. This isn’t any different than the Boston tea party. The government has killed enough citizens, and now they are being taken to task. People have done everything already. Peaceful protests have happened, dialogue has happened, riots have happened, and still the government kills its citizens for no reason.

To me, this isn’t just about the individual killing of George Floyd, or even just racism. This is about the government continuing to destroy individual liberties. They put people in prison for victimless crimes, they give themselves powers that should be unconstitutional. Police performing no knock raids in plain clothes and then arresting the lawful gun owner for firing back against government sanctioned home intruders that just killed his f***ing girlfriend? Justice system letting off police for actual murder while throwing people in prison for life for d****? And to the racism point, the laws they push through that trample all over individual liberties also put poor people in prisons more than anyone else, and thanks to laws since segregation, that means majority minorities in prison.

Burn down some public buildings and the tax payer gets to pay for it, just like the tax payer gets to pay for the paid vacation the police officers get to go on while the families pay for the funeral costs.

Burn down some corporations? The corporations won’t go bankrupt, and now you’ve got the attention of big money. Big money is the only thing that can actually get the government to pay attention.

I hope that the riots and looters don’t destroy small businesses (I’m sure plenty have been damaged). But this is what America is all about.
