Lakers drop to 10th in the West. They're behind Golden State, who plays tonight.
LA finishes 3-2 in its season series with Phoenix.
Darvin Ham on the Lakers' slow start:
"You can't give up 45-point quarters or you're gonna be playing behind the eight-ball the rest of the way."
He added that the Lakers' inability to defend without fouling hurt them.
Darvin Ham says that Anthony Davisā early foul trouble altered the rotation and led to him playing Max Christie later than he had planned to.
Ham says the staff still needs to figure out how to balance getting Spencer Dinwiddie and Max minutes.
Austin Reaves on the Lakers' slow start:
"You never want to start the game off like that, obviously. I thought we did a good job battling back but we put ourselves in a tough position where we almost had to be perfect the rest of the game."
Austin Reaves on AD:
"It was a slow start for him, but what he demands on the floor, the attention, the defensive effort, contesting shots... I don't think AD can have a 'horrible' half just because what he means defensively."
He added that they did a better job of finding him in the second half to get him going offensively.
LeBron James on the Lakers attempting a season-low eight free throws against the Suns and the ānarrativeā that all the Lakers do is shoot FTs:
D'Angelo Russell said there were a lot of jump shots in the game, which led to long rebounds.
"We got to be better at helping AD (on the glass)."
D'Angelo Russell says the Lakers needed to "pick their poison" against a Suns team with a lot of talent, which led to Royce O'Neale and Grayson Allen having big games.
LeBron James discussed the Lakers' struggles on the defensive glass and the need for the guards and forwards to crash to help Anthony Davis:
Lakers two-way center Colin Castleton has a right wrist fracture and will be out for at least two weeks before heās re-evaluated.
Our center depth gets even weaker.
Darvin Ham on the Lakers' slow start:
"You can't give up 45-point quarters or you're gonna be playing behind the eight-ball the rest of the way."
He added that the Lakers' inability to defend without fouling hurt them.
then play Max on Booker first half you dumbass
then play Max on Booker first half you dumbass
The real reason why he didn't play Christie in the first half was because Christie has looked lost on D and blown a couple of defensive assignments the last few games.
So Ham decided to put him in the doghouse and rely on Dinshittie more.
He played Christie for like 5 minutes and then benched him again even though he hit got a nice assist and hit a three.
He did this dumb s*** early on in the season.
Christie basically can't make any mistakes and even when he starts playing well, it takes a while for Ham to trust him again and give him more minutes.
Then in the postgame interview, he says he didn't play Christie because AD got in early foul trouble, which doesnt make any sense to me.
Poor excuses and no accountability.
Every time Ham does something right, he goes back to doing some dumb s***.
Gonna be very hard to go on a run for the 6th seed when he keeps sabotaging us.
Prince getting more minutes than Rui tonight is odd to me.
When Cam comes back, its probably gonna get worse. Rui and Christie minutes will probably go down.
Ham can't be trusted with consistently having the right lineups
He's also addicted to going small against bigger teams and we just keep getting outrebounded. That's the type of s*** that cost us games against the Nuggets last playoffs.
We're not going far with Ham as the coach even if we do somehow make the playoffs this season.
That's the sad truth.
If we donāt make it back to the western conference finals at the least, then I realize we will never win with Lebron. Father Time is undefeated

Thatās bad coaching right now. Makes young players press because they scared of losing minutes⦠the lack of development with Christie is sad. Itās all ham too
